Well, if we are going to play with a non goalscoring striker then I would prefer to see one that holds the ball up and brings others into play, is mobile and shows for the ball and can draw fouls.

Ayew did that on Saturday.

Being able to draw fouls is of limited value when Marriner's the ref.

No, I do mean using Ward to stop Shelvey while Newcastle have the ball, and then go to full back to cover for the full backs to go forward. I do not know if Meyer can do a marking job. Shelvey is the springboard for them and can release long, accurate passes, has quite a shot and is able to control the ball in the middle of the park. Palace need to speed him up, block his movement and try to cut off his passing. The key to stopping Newcastle.

So bring in one of our weakest squad players and play him to of position to man mark Shelvey and then get him to leave his man marking role to then cover at high back. I'm not convinced

Benteke’s career at this level is over. Wickham may never play for us again and let’s face it, Sorloth is a bit crap.

We better hope Ayew comes good.

If Bakary Sako was still around he might be getting game time at the minute.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Shelvey wasn't in the starting line-up for their last game against Arsenal and wasn't introduced into the fray from the bench. In the previous game against Man C he wasn't even in the matchday squad. The last time he played was in the 0-0 draw at Cardiff back on 18th August.

He has been coming back from injury and they have looked crap without him. He'll play

I'd take Sako any day over Benteke, Sorloth, and Ayew combined.

This guy is born for the champ, have no idea what Roy sees in him? No movement, no pace, no penetration, no nothing. At least when sorloth rocks up he raffles team a bit. This guy is an absolute passenger.

I listened to the radio commentary and it was all Ayew.

He cannot replace Zaha, Benteke and Townsend, he is an ex-Swansea winger.

Worked his socks of with no support.
