Asia has reached this point as well and, what they and Europe both have in common, is interaction with other cultures and populations. Would the UK have progressed as much if the Romans and others had not invaded? I'd guess they wouldn't have if they had remained completely isolated. I think eventually they would have contacted the other places in Europe as it is relatively close to the UK and gained extra skills that way.

Interestingly some of the early populations in South Africa had the skills to domesticate cattle and farm producing wheat and other crops. They also worked metal, including iron and lived in settlements so they had advanced. The southern African made this progression even though they were far further from other cultures than the people were in Europe.

I should add that I think the land grab is wrong and highly stupid. The government should encourage the white farmers to take on apprentices to learn the trade and then grant them land when qualified. The way they are doing it at present will help no one and I fear it will cause a famine.

Well firstly because any evidence that proved that hypothesis scientifically would be suppressed and therefore unavailable.
We live in a world where equality is a legal requirement regardless of reality and to be fair, the world was a pretty ugly place when that was not the case.
In the end, we all have useful skills and attributes but maybe some of those are not necessarily conducive to technological progress or a societal progression.
I haven't invented bugger all. Does that make me inferior as an individual or just normal?
Certainly, certain individuals in various societies have made landmark discoveries and have created an environment where the gifted thinker can thrive.
