I do like my hot curries.

If there is a 'Chicken Phall' on the menu I will generally order it in preference to any other dish.
Once I sampled the delights of what was called a 'Gunpowder Kahlia' and it had a 'Kick' to it !

If there is no Phall but a vindaloo, I ask for "Chicken Vindaloo- extra hot".

I had a delicious 'Jungle curry' in a Thai restaurant the other night.Very hot !

Thai jungle curries are like fire.

Sainsbury’s used to do vindaloo and phall but I think they discontinued them. Saw the phall in the reduced bay quite a lot.

that's a good selection.
not had kolhapruri before.

We are at our caravan in Whitstable, my mrs said she wanted a traditional dinner today.
We went to Marks and Sparks food, she picked up a takeaway Thai box, a Chinese dish , Indian naan bread , Chilean wine and Mexican and German beer !
Lucky she’s pretty

Have found in recent years that the standards of take away food in general has fallen through the floor .

Chineese , used to be my go to on the way home from pub but now just find it all so bland .

Kebab , the portions just seem to have shrunk , how many peices of Chicken make up a squewer? And dont even go anywhere the 'fries' more potatoe in a custard jelly .

Indian , my biggest disapointment . Used to really enjoy a good curry but somethings going on . Have they all collectively decided to serve up crap curries at the same time ? Used to have 3 decent take aways and a couple of really good restraunts on my list . I now have none . Not one of them can put together good meat with a good sauce . Maybe its got something to do with immigration numbers and a shortage of good curry chefs .

Thank god for my local chippy , at least that has remained good quality so for now my favourite takeaway is good old Cod and chips .

was reading a while back that there actually is a genuine shortage of proper curry chefs.
On radio 4 a while back there was a thing about curry & apparently a lot of the original chefs were guys that had absconded from services, lierally jumped ship!
Also like all trades a lot of crap cooks try to blag it.
I'd given up on curry while I was still in Croydon last year but having moved to sussex find i'm spoilt for curry, Chinese & of course fish n chips.
Think its certain areas go through trends.
try outside your immediate area.

I can certainly vouch for that.
In terms from 'Indians' there are 4 restaurants all within a mile from my abode.Got 3 Chinese restaurants/take aways within a mile as well.

When I started work in London in the mid sixties there was only a handful of Indian restaurants in the city.

Ten years later most towns had an Indian, Chinese and Greek restaurant but for some reason or other the Greek restaurants never caught on big style and have since faded away.

My dear wife and I were driving through Lancing yesterday and I noticed a Greek restaurant called 'Meze Meze' and opined that we hadn't seen many of them recently.

We used to go to a Greek restaurant at the bottom of South Norwood Hill, near the traffic lights, back in the 80s and we both cannot remember what it was called.

Checkout Archipelagos in Hove - it's excellent.
