Bond is British and white. Anything else would be a detriment to the character itself and a betrayal of it’s roots. Yet the luvvies and their holier than thou mindset would fawn all over this in their obsessive quest to push their diversity agenda. Look what happened when they feminised Ghostbusters. It flopped quicker than a turd in the toilets. And an Idris Elba Bond (as good as he is), would bomb as well. But for the sake of equality, let’s genderbend Lara Croft and Wonder Woman and watch everyone get outraged.
"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

I think it’ll fail and lose white viewers. Should just create a new black spy character. Jason Bourne was better than Bond for a while.

They have to be up there with Elba.....are they in their thirties? We need a younger Bond. I wonder who actually makes this choice. They made a good one with Craig....who was a bit left field at the time. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Aug 2018 5.58pm) Did you see him playing with the gun and weaving in and out of the corridor in ‘Layer Cake?’ Looked convincing there and other moments in that film.

Money will dictate casting. A Black Bond might be popular in some countries but the USA and Britain make up a big chunk of the market and such a move would be very poorly received if I'm any judge. Agree. But I do like Denzil Washington as The Equalizer after I saw it on tv though I didn’t ever watch it with Edward Woodward. Looking forward to the sequel.

Anybody genuinely upset at the thought of a talented black man being James Bond, should be delighted that in their life, this is the only thing that's caused anxiety. In other words, get a grip!

Not sure people will be upset. More meh about ever watching or whether they like it or not and money taken at the box office will plummet, and that’s what decides the next move be. Could be a very uncomfortable decision to make with finger wagging at ‘ignorant white people’ because of it so actually a step backwards instead of forwards.

Apart from a dreadful sky advert I have seen Idris Elba in a couple of films and I reckon that he plays him self rather than acts, so ideal for Bond, if not him how about Warwick Davis!
