Very true.

I can also imagine that if he's not training with a club then he's probably already a good stone overweight,

Never coming back and is unlikely to get a better offer than the one we proposed. Greedy agents and poor advice means he could end up dropping into the championship of having to go abroad.

It was a shame he got injured when just starting to play well, but our squad looks stronger this year and I could not see him getting any real game time with us anyway.

Did Bakary get a club? I don't see he has signed elsewhere

i think he was ill advised he is injured so will any club take him on until he returns to fitness? He should have accepted the contract and then he would still at least be being paid

we have 3 left footed players in pva, jeff and papa. that is enough - a right footed winger would be useful. but what do we have players like kaikai for?

Our premier league survival has relied, at times, on getting the best out of players who are either past their best, out of position or above their ‘level’. The likes of Delaney, Speroni, Ward, Dikgacoi, Kelly, Mariappa, etc have each ticked at least one of those boxes at some point. They were never supposed to perform so reliably, but some of them have done over the course of several years.
Likewise Sako has done a decent job when called upon in necessity but is definitely not premier league level. Good finisher but nothing else to his game. He’s been a useful tool over the past three years but now is the right time to part ways.

Sako will be losing money but not that much. Although contracts are until 30/6 Players Union introduced a new rule a few years ago that any out of contract player not signed up on 1/7 gets an extra month's salary from their last club - so Palace will have had to pay him almost £250k extra to cover that period. From August he will be out of pocket - so 3 weeks and counting

If he's agreed to massively reduced wages and can stay in good shape, could be a useful member of the squad.
