This demonstrates that outside the " big " clubs, tenure means little in terms of current performance Originally posted by xomnea
This.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Despite being a fierce critic of Palace's transfer performance in reason years I am happy to wait to see what transpires rather than complaining now about players that we have missed but possibly were never interested in anyway. If at the close of the window our squad is weaker than at the end of last season I will be highly critical of the powers that be but not yet as it's too early

What ambitions??? Miss out on Wilshere, let Yohan walk away,Wilf reportedly refusing to sign a new contract extension because he wants to test himself at a higher level apparently,RH still to sign a contract together with media reports suggesting that Southampton and Newcastle are leading the race to sign the Liverpool striker. At least we are fulfilling one ambition, reducing our wages bill !!

I've always had the view of Steve that he wants to gamble. He doesn't want to pay market value or get in bidding wars, he basically wants there to be 3 worse teams than us through a mixture of experience, injuries and a lot of luck. I feel like our luck has run out, how many chances are we gunna get to get out of the relegation battle? We can't have our 6th year in the prem be another struggle. Sure, we have had bad luck with injuries and that is what he comes back too 'oh if such and such wasn't injured we'd be higher' etc. I appreciate what he is doing, but i wish he was more, in my eyes realistic. As it stands, our squad is weaker than it was last year and it was obvious we needed to improve our squad this summer. Unless we sign a replacement for Yohan, add fire power up top and add to the midfield, we're stalling. It really is that simple and no need to argue that fact.

If we get a replacement for Cabaye, a speedy striker and RLC on either a loan or a buy, I believe that is sufficient for us for next season. If anyone else leaves then they will need replacing, particularly if it is Townsend. Our current and I think to an extent, our anticipated transfer activity, doesn't show masses of ambition for an improved league position this coming season, however we will have one eye on the stand re-build. As a result I am not sure we can expect a massive influx of players.

It amazes me that people think Steve Parish is going to magically become a completely different person each and every transfer window. As Forrest Gump once proclaimed: "Parish is as Parish does......" He will always wait until late in the window to conduct most (or all) incoming business, because as he clearly stated in an interview on the FYP pod last year he believes that only when you wait to the last minute, generally speaking, can you get value. This means we will face countless more situations where we leave a signing until the last minute, it goes awry, and we have no time to get a proper replacement in. See Ronnow, Frederick......where his chairmen went public with some incredible claims about total schoolboy stuff from Palace on his transfer....then we have Amadou...Niasse...etc etc. Its amateur hour at Palace when it comes to transfers. That will never, ever change under the stewardship of Steve Parish. Get over it, live with it, accept it, and let it wash over you like so much salty water. Expect an exciting August 9th.
