I was done in West Wickham when I had a ticket and it was clearly on display. A chancer of a warden. I saw him hovering.

Not only did I object to the fine, I also asked for the Warden to be disciplined. I was told that he was, who knows.

Oh I am sure he was lol.

Prepare for a response like this...

Before giving PCNs, our CEOs check for any parking items displayed and record the details. The CEO saw no Pay & Display ticket. This can happen, for example, when people forget to display Pay & Display tickets or when Pay & Display tickets fall off windscreens. It is unfortunate if this happened with you, but a Pay & Display ticket is only valid if it is displayed so that a CEO can see all its details.

I do fear you may be correct Steph
Croydon council needs all the dough it can get.
Many mouths to feed if you get my drift.
Luckily I just fed a family for a week so I've done my bit.

To be fair, Croydon don't actually make much money through PCNs, they've even done away with towing vehicles. If they really wanted to make money they could just come to my road daily and they'd make a fortune.

Whilst it seems harsh, it is the drivers responsibility to pay and to make sure they display items correctly.

I have had a few encounters with traffic wardens. These nearly boiled into physical violence,...which is not the answer.
As I was moving house some 5 years ago, I hired a van to move my stuff and parked outside my house. Admittedly on a dropped kerb, ...but it was my kerb.
The tw at of a warden had previously ticketed my aunt who had a blue badge for doing the same.
He attempted to ticket my van, whilst hiding behind a neighbours wall. He was spotted.

I discussed the parked van issue with warden (face to face), and he fcked off.

Was pleased to hear that 2 years later he had the 5hlt beaten out of him by another motorist. (I think I mentioned earlier, that violence is not the answer. )
It's a dirty job, but someone had to do it.

Nowadays, everyone wears body-cams, so my earlier input to face-to-face resolution, is no longer valid

Just to point out Ali, it is not your dropped kerb and CEOs can issue PCNs if you park on it. End of the day it stops others from blocking your vehicle in or out of your driveway.

At the end of the day, they are doing their jobs. If people parked legally then they wouldn't have to worry about PCNs.

I thought it was worse to block someone in than out from a drive.
Might be a law changed but that was the case way back when.

I did pay but didn't count on the ticket spinning over on the dash.
If they made them sticky like they used to it wouldn't have happened.
That's part of my defence BTW

Yes, but I’m sure you would agree that some are “doing their jobs” far more enthusiastically than they should be...

Lol it won't help, trust me on this one. I hope they do give you a warning but can't see it.

I don't actually. They do not get paid commission so no need for them to just issue for no reason. Park legally and you'll be fine
