Damien rushed out of his room and followed a young boy who proceeded towards a ladder. Then the ladder snapped and the boy fell but delaney caught him. Gracie Damien’. Apparently the lad was one of Roma’s board members kids. Can’t vouch for the validity, but like I say, this has been mentioned via several people. Hmmm...that story neither hangs together nor really bears believing. I'll take a rain-check on it until a more reliable source than Twitter confirms it:

Have I missed something here? Where has it been (reliably) reported that he's leaving? He came on at the end of the West Brom match and did a speech saying thank you to the fans. He was grateful for 6 years that gave him the best time in his career when he was depressed and going to hang up his boots. He will miss playing for us etc, he doesnt do social media so he had to do it in person.

Plausible, except for the fact that Damo would just need to clap his hands and the fire would go out. Thanks DD!!

A good interview with Damo from before the FA Cup final, talking about when he nearly walked away from football completely before joining us: [Link]

I would love it so much if he signed for Roma!

Best wishes at Cork, Damien. He’s been a massive player for us, was excellent in our promotion system and key in establishing Palace as a premier league side. Seemed to be a big character off the pitch as well and did a lot for the team spirit. His time has come to move on I guess but I for one will miss him.

Good luck to you DD. I thought he was a good, solid, reliable defender who gave everything for the cause. Not much more you can ask of any Palace player.
