A win against WBA is highly unlikely. Over the years many last games produce poor performances once we are safe. Last year we got humiliated by Man Utds near youth team. But this year we are going into the game on a good run playing well and are at home. WBA may have beaten Spurs but the latter dominated the game territoriality at the Hawthorns in spite of starting that waste of space Lamela

I think that's not extremely relevant, but a top 10 finish has its prestige. You could then advertise yourself as a top 10 club Try telling Parish and the Americans that the 」2 mil at stake over about 5 places for us and Roy痴 player budget is not relevant. Dear oh dear. Football is a business now and money is extremely relevant and the players know it too and with the right motivation will be playing to finish on a high and enable Roy to improve the squad more, and before anyone says why would a player try to encourage more signings, they all appreciate its a squad game, especially here, and the morale and camaraderie is pretty good right now, as is the like and respect for Roy and Ray. Well West Brom are down now so just pride at stake on Sunday but they must be dejected after giving themselves a slim hope.

And, with any luck, Leicester as well Unlikely I would have thought. But then they do have Arsenal and Tottenham to play so the seven goal difference could reduce sharply. We値l know after tonight once we see if Arsenal turn up.

The last day of the season is always tough to call for two reasons: motivation (or lack of) Some teams will bottle it, others won't care, others will produce super-human efforts. The form of previous games suddenly has less relevance than it normally would. I'm sure there are loads of examples of strange results, but Man Utd 5 West Brom 5 springs to mind as an anomaly. I desperately want us to fight till the very end. I'd be really disappointed if we decide that our season is done, lose and then drop 3 places. I want us to finish as high as possible and we have an excellent chance of 11th as a minimum. West Brom could have everything to die for. Question is which Palace will turn up; one without fear or one without motivation. Good post

If you take current form it's more likely than you think: Palace: P5/W3/D2/L0/F12/A4/GD+8 Leicester: P5/W0/D1/L4/F2/A11/GD-9 Considering how they played against us & WHU they could get a proper beating in both their remaining games. The Toon have two tough games as well but I think they may just nick something from one of them (unless Rafa wants to take the opportunity to emphasise how much his squad needs building on). All we can do is turn up, play our best game & take the 3 points - the rest is out of our hands.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Personally,as long as we use the opportunity to sneak behind closed doors and line up a couple of deals for Ben Foster and Matty Phillips, I'll be happy. To be fair, I think WBA have the strongest set of players on paper out of the bottom four, and there's definitely some that could strengthen our squad.

Ben Foster has indicated that he is happy to remain at the club. Regards Phillips, a criticism labelled against him is that his biggest problem is his belief in his ability and that he needs to believe in himself more. Can be a bit hit and miss and his final product has let him down in the past. But he has pace and power, can score goals and on his day can be very effective.
