It’s strange but Asda seem to attract a certain type of customer. Naturally living in Banstead we normally shop at Waitrose and M&S! Booo That Waitrose knocked down my school! Maybe showing my age, but before it was moved to the horseshoe I was there as a 7 year old

Shopping at ASDA Swanley is such a grim experience given evident large % of feckless, obese shoppers roaming around with the additional feature of bladdered, chain smoking locals frequenting adjoining grim budget land high street. No chance of buying a postcard given that it become a mecca area for the feral.. Swanley Asda is great. I especially like it at the start of November when the ‘penny for the guyers’ are fighting over the best pitch. Edited by Casual (03 May 2018 12.04pm)

Apparently Sainsury's are getting stick because they have introduced large TV monitors above the self service tills, for customers safety of course. So nothing to do with people not scanning items or scanning avocados as carrots. I haven't seen them but customers are complaining they are an invasion of privacy. I thought what a bunch of snowflakes (and tea leaves) until it was pointed out the other customers can see you entering your pin and what is in your bags. One women said the camera was looking down her top. When I worked in M&S they should us the security cameras and all of the above is true the difference is that you are not showing this to other shoppers. I am not sure this will be good for business.

not Sure I Agree with that. I've Of The 4 main supoermarkets, Certain things are better from all places. Morrissons good for buchered stuff, Tesco good for pre-Packaged stuff, Sainsburys Veg and Asda ummm, is a bit cheaper ?! Aldi And Lidl have a different business model, So it's difficult to compare.Used to be based on buying short Date items to Pass on discounts that way, but they seem to sell different value lines now, and is more about cheaper outfitting and marketing, and getting as much footfall as possible. I think it depends where you are as well. Tescos in Coatbridge had a big notice up telling you that they compared their prices with the other supermarkets and were proud to report that they (Tescos) were cheaper across the board. Then you looked at the small print and saw that the supermarkets they compared themselves with were in Guildford, Kingston-upon-Thames and Croydon. And Oxford, a city whose prices make Davos look like the Third World. Aldi round here is great for Scottish produce but stuff that's come halfway round the world seems to have made the journey by bicycle. Edited by chateauferret (28 May 2018 6.45pm)
