Townsend - McArthur - Milovojevic - Zaha

Sorloth - Benteke.

RLC and Cabaye to both get game time.

Let's start with 4-5-1 that occasionally morphs into a 4-3-3 when we attack. 4-5-1 is what we know best and should avoid them overruning us too often. Hennessey TFM Tomkins Sakho. PVA Luka Townsend McArthur Cabaye. Zaha Benteke AWB RLC Cavalieri Schlupp Sorloth Riedewald I get the disdain for Benteke, but he has presence and power and this is a game where we will need those attributes. I also hope the fact Sorloth is breathing down his neck, and a world cup is looming, will give Christian all the carrot and stick he needs to perform and put his back into it. In a fully match fit squad, I would put RLC in over McArthur. But Cabaye, TFM, Sakho and Wilf are returning in my team so Ruben, whose body seems a little unreliable, misses out. like others, I just prefer TFM's experience, athleticism and raw pace for this one but would have no qualms about AWB being there. Somebody said he had a 'mare' against Chelsea. I don't remember that. At least we know AWB is match fit, too. We have great substitutions available. Finally, the above all depends what they show in training, natch. Hopefully Benteke has responded well to being subbed. I get the disdain for Benteke, but he has presence and power and this is a game where we will need those attributes. I also hope the fact Sorloth is breathing down his neck, and a world cup is looming, will give Christian all the carrot and stick he needs to perform and put his back into it.

But where? I don't think he's head and shoulders above any of our other defenders, to be honest. And I'd rather keep giving game time to one of our own (AWB)...who hasn't really done anything to warrant losing the shirt.

Fosu-Mensah is a good option for the bench - covering RB/CB and maybe even RW if some extra zip is needed towards the end.
