Haha, you have quoted the Daily Mail's headline who aren't short of a trick or two for click bait. Read the Croydon Advertiser version who were first to publish this story on News Now,

"People ask what I'm planning for, I'm planning for Championship. At the moment it's down to the players, but if it does happen I can't start thinking about it then."

Surely he means the fate of the club is in the players hands and not, its the fault of the players that we are in this current situation?

It just shows you how leaving out half of a sentence can change the whole context.

Be easier to do the upgrade on the stadium if we do go down.

Yes maybe ,however you have been preparing for the Championship for five years.
One year you must be correct.

It's loud and clear a message for within...
This sentence says it all: "We are in a difficult situation, make no mistake... it's down to the players!"

I am sure that this is what he meant.

For me SP has got this all wrong again, yes behind closed doors you have to plan for relegation but to come out and say it... crazy IMO.
Anyway again IMO we must have begun planning in the January window. From the 3 signings, 1 playing and the other 2 nowhere to be seen.

Yes another one naild. It doesn't exactly inspire the team with confidence. Plan it all he wants to . It'd be stupid not to but to announce it to the world like that is wrong.

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

Most people won't look beyond the headline statement.

CEO's should be planning for any eventuality.

It would have been better to either say that or say more specifically that he was planning for both the Premier League and possibly the Championship.

Nice timing, just as the Club are marketing season tickets for next year !

Spot on. I add to those who've asked why we haven't for other things and areas in the recent past.

It is not all about our players, no.

It is also about our opponents and their wilful and damaging habit of playing to their strengths against us.

It is a disgrace.

Parrish has totally lost it.
Of course any business needs a contingency plan in the event of failure.....but DONT share your thoughts with the press, especially in the football world where everything is exaggerated.
A good business leader knows when to speak out and when to keep their lips sealed.
This is yet another huge mistake......and puts massive pressure on an already very weakened squad.
Not good not good at all Im afraid.

how comes they have the foresight to plan for relegation but never think 'what if the manager leaves?' or 'what are we going to do about our lack of strikers and decent keepers?'

We knew last summer, over 6 months ago and probably longer, we needed a striker and a goalkeeper, how about that for planning. So totally agree with the poster above.

and it's goodnight from me.......

I thought that ... there will be plenty of room to rehouse supporters from the Main Stand while it is being rebuilt.
