I presume the discount on early renewal will still apply when the club make up their mind?? Never understand this arguement. How old were you at your first game? Lets say you were 12 and I was 7, assuming we live until the exact same age I have the potential to be a better fan? I've not had the opportunity to watch Palace since the 1960's so does that make you a better fan than me? Confusing stuff.

I can only imagine that it is something that has recently come up that has forced Palace to delay the ST renewals in the Lower Tier. It's odd that the club hasn't hinted at what the delay could be but getting wound up about it in advance isn't going to change anything. Some of our group know people in the HF and they swear that this hasn't come from them. Obviously this wont stop people using it as a stick to beat them with though. People in the Arthur have been moved about quite a lot over the years and I don't remember this much whining from them.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I think that the most confusing aspect is the fact "better fan " wasn't even mentioned and praise was given to the HF. Edited by Park Road (26 Feb 2018 11.10am)

With the fanatics (who are great) possible being moved to the middle will mean all of us will be standing throughout. Would rather the fanatics keep to their present position.

Edited by Park Road (26 Feb 2018 11.10am) I thought he had highlighted in original reply, why CRE was saying he was a better fan. What other inference can be taken from this other than the longer you've supported Palace the more valuable/respected/important etc you are

I don’t get it. How will sending the mail today be worse than any other day? Who won’t attend or start to demonstrate or won’t sing as a result? Because people are clearly pissed off. Heading to a match already feeling deflated is hardly conducive to a positive atmosphere. they could have waited a week at least, after the united game and preferably until they could put a little more meat on the bones

So now the club are criticised for warning people too early. It obviously didn’t affect the atmosphere.

As CRE said fans don't even know for definite whether they will be eligible for the early bird discount. Yes we all know they should be but we all knew we needed another striker!! fans can't even buy a ticket to have allocated a seat later. The fans I know in the lower Holmesdale, which admittedly is only a few all feel royally pissed off. Edited by Y Ddraig Goch (26 Feb 2018 12.16pm)

We all read into things differently

The Trust have contacted Phil Alexander and specifically asked if this related to moving the HF and he was not prepared to comment further other that to say "it's under review" I would suggest therefore that no one rings the club on a premium rate line as suggested in their email as you will not get any information at this time. We will continue to press for an early answer.
A lie is halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its boots on Sainsburys do not have a lease on their store - they own it outright together with both carparks. |

The problem with the e-mail that was sent out is the fact it is 'cryptic' and doesn't give anyone any information or clues as to what is potentially going to be happening in the Lower Holmesdale and why. As a result, this has, naturally, led to many rumours and speculation doing the rounds as to what is going on, which is to be expected when you give out zero information. It's poor from the club as far as I'm concerned. The general feeling amongst most people I spoke to yesterday in the HOL (some who were not even aware of the e-mail being sent) was that they are fearful and angry over any potential announcement if it does indeed mean moving people from their seats, many of which have been there for the 24 years since the Holmesdale opened in its current form.
