Please read the thread properly before posting... You'll see I make the case for keeping Gayle. Given the little time he was given on the pitch for us he was really good. I was at the liverpool game in 2014 when Gayle scored twice in the last 10mins to deny Liverpool the title. I watched Gerard and Suarez reduced to tears. What a shame. In what way? Please elaborate? Is it because theyve simply highlighted that Murray and Gayle can do what our ONE striker we've had all season can't?? Edited by kennybrowns leftfoot (24 Feb 2018 5.01pm)

Gayley cant do it in the premier league, everyone knows that ! Ha-ha ))))) Gayle has one of the best goals to minutes played ratios in the PL. I think it's actually the best among strikers outside of the Top 6 (maybe just Vardy having a better ratio). Your post just shows what wrong perceptions people have...

I thought selling Gayle made sense. His contributions were patchy and he always looked lost when playing against the top sides. I know there was an argument that he needed to have someone up front alongside him to play off and I accept that to an extent but I still think he the Championship is his level. However I think getting rid of Murray was not such a good idea. An old friend of mine had a spare ticket for Brighton's game against Swansea today, so, undercover, along I went. The fact is that he hasn't lost any of his instinct to be in the right place at the right time.Apart from his two goals he had another disallowed. He also won the penalty from which he scored. He also holds the ball up well and chases opportunities. PS Swansea looked very poor today belying their recent good form

This. Yep. Should have started. Reckon he will play til he’s 40, not in the Premier league. Plays the game in his head , a poor mans Sheringham. Quality.

I've read the thread fine.. but thanks for your concern anyway. I merely asked you a question and put forward a suggestion as to why you might think some people on the thread are knobs??... No need to get so touchy.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

To top it off we have 5 million pound Jordan Mutch who for some reason doesn’t even make the bench when most of the senior squad are sidelined. Can anyone explain why he is still at the club if he is never getting a game. He looked fit in pre season and even scored a couple. Is he just there to collect wages till 2019?

Pardew thought he could get better, without physically doing it. I miss FFS, we miss the goals more.

Quite simply our last 3 Managers do not pick him for the first team .

Gayle only has 5 goals this year so still doesn't have the record to be called a premier league striker. Left because he wasn't as prolific as we needed, will be sold by Newcastle if they stay up. Loved Murray, but was never going to be offered the game time. His palace career ended when he did his knee against Brighton. Doing well now mainly because Brightons other strikers aren't that good... Edited by steven_t92 (24 Feb 2018 10.47pm)

I genuinely think we will have to endure Gayle/Murray threads until the day they both retire.

It was a monumental f*** up to let them go, but it is in the past. The most ridiculous thing was that we then started playing Campbell. Still super Al is doing the business at WBA, every cloud and all that...
