This is Stormzy's rap to Theresa May:

"Yo Theresa May, What, you thought we just forgot about Grenfell? You criminals, and you've got the cheek to call us savages, you should do some jail time, you should pay some damages, you should burn your house down and see if you can manage this."

With £58 mil committed to the victims of Grenfell I'd say it's possibly more the local council who've again let them down.

''Cheek to call us savages.'' We're all angry with politicians over issues but I cannot think of one that's called Grenfell victims ''savages.'' Or is it because it rhymes with ''damages'', when there's been the £58 mil set aside and it's the local council that's managed it appallingly, and been sacked for it.

He should be aiming his fury at the inquiry, even though it hasn't begun yet, and the politicians that let the relaxed regulations through, and the property developers who opted for cladding known to be more flammable. May's getting sh1t for lacking public empathy or any contact whatsoever straight after which is fair enough but blaiming her for it and after isn't an accurate judgement, and I dislike her too.

''Will someone tell the Daily Mail they can suck my d***'' opinion was fair.

People incorrectly address things to, or blame things on, the Prime Minister all of the time.

It's not hard to see why, loads of people also incorrectly think we vote for one.

If he had actually addressed the correct people/person then most of the audience would've thought, who the hell are they. You want to attack politicians, you've got to pick a big name. And there's none bigger to pick than the PM.

Maybe the developers should receive some, but I guess it may not help the victims' in the inquiry.

By ranting about the PM, he got a lot of coverage in the media so job done from a PR point of view, both for himself and Grenfell.

I have now heard of him despite not knowingly ever listed on one of his records.

I hope that one of the headlines was Stomzy In A Tea Cup.

Not entirely unreasonably to be fair- after all, the PM appoints the Ministers, who have wide ranging powers. If the minister makes a balls up of it, the argument is perhaps they should never have been appointed?

Ultimately, governments pass laws. If an unintended (or intended) consequence of said laws results in negative consequences, the buck stops with the PM!

I'd say the blame lies squarely with the regulators who allow flammable cladding to be installed above a certain height, despite it not being recommended by the manufacturers and it being banned in the country where they are based.

It is unreasonable, but not hard to see why as I intimated in my post. She'd been PM for 11 months when it happened, and the cladding went up a couple of years prior to her appointment.

Governments do not actually set the building regulations, the civil service do, and they do not get appointed fresh by each new government.

With regards the music, I listen to ‘Straight outta Compton’, it’s still fresh 29 years after it was released. I listen to Stormzy and don’t think the fella is fit to load Eazy’s A-K.

Agree. The contractors would be using the materials that they are specified. They’d be using the cheapest stuff that has ‘British Standard’ approval.

I know I'm not the target audience, but I find the videos hanging around with what looks like a gang depressing. The performance by Kendrick Lamar at the Brits seemed shambolic to me. A lot of raps aren't very clear and need subtitles; maybe the lack of true poetic invention is overpowered by a snarly, sneering attitude?

I know. There's no need for mid twenty something's to be hanging around in gangs to the local area and to the shopping centre, in zones 5 and 6 and beyond, where the 'mass market' is. It's unnecessary and holds people back. How communicating this is positive I don't understand.

The music is no 'Dre 2001.' Now that is a classic rap album and you can pick up the lyrics.

Looks like Stormzy's rap protest was successful, achieving the 100,000 signatures to restore public trust in the inquiry.

Those who signed the petition are requesting that Theresa May exercises “her powers under the Inquiries Act 2005 to appoint additional panel members with decision making power to sit alongside Chair in Grenfell Tower Inquiry: to ensure those affected have confidence in & are willing to fully participate in the Inquiry.”

That's hopefully the beginning of a good outcome and pointing in the right direction. Good job.
