Businesses will sign up to sell these chickens because itll save them money... bigger profits. No worries about people's health... cancer, diabetes, obesity etc all linked to eating meat. They have to clean the chickens in chlorinated water because the conditions they are kept in are so bad.
Anything to make money.

Yes that's correct but that is only being done so that business can continue uninterrupted after the transition period is over with regards to standards. From that point forward, any law can be changed by UK parliament. That's the whole point of copying the EU laws over, they allow them to be changed once the UK fully leaves the EU. Any changes can't be made overnight the day after the UK leaves the EU.

A bit like software code, you take a copy to make changes in order to change the functionality. You don't start from a blank sheet of paper if there is a working set of code available.

So youre suggesting that we'll spend all that time and effort adding the EU legislation to our own laws and bils...only to then change them back at a latter date....????

The bold part is truly laughable.

I'm not arguing against vegans, i'm ignoring them wherever possible and letting them carry on as they like. It'd be nice if they could have the same courtesy to those that aren't.

It's laughable that 10 years ago people had little idea about what goes on in slaughterhouses???? Where then did they get their information from? Not from the internet, not from youtube and certainly not from the meat industry. The meat industry still hides most of what happens in slaughterhouses as much as it can. Most people that eat meat don't want to know what happens in slaughterhouses. The more they see and find out the more likely they are to stop eating it. That's what's happening now. As more and more information gets out more people are cutting down or stopping eating meat and if this had been known 10 - 20 years ago rather than people assuming that animals were well cared for and kept in decent conditions the number of vegans now would be a lot greater than it currently is. The information Im reading isn't subjective it's factual. The information the meat industry discloses is generally questionable and when it's honest it's usually quite shocking. Vegans would allow meat eaters to carry on as they like if it wasn't for the fact their choices are causing unnecessary suffering for billions of animals. Also, the fact that eating meat leads to an increase in the probability of developing health problems such as diabetes, obesity and heart disease and the damaging effect of eating meat on the environment means that we have to make our voices heard or the meat eaters will just continue doing what they are doing destroying themselves and everything else on our planet.

Yep, it's called the Great Repeal Bill. However, many laws will remain the same, especially for maintaining any trade with the EU as goods and services will have to meet EU standards to be traded there. Here you go:

"All existing EU legislation will be copied across into domestic UK law to ensure a smooth transition on the day after Brexit"

"EU Withdrawal Bill: A guide to the Brexit repeal legislation"

What rubbish. Plenty of people knew.

The 'meat eaters' will continue to eat meat because meat tastes good and is nutritious. They are also in a large majority despite your efforts to make them sound like some kind of cult.

Maybe you shold eat some meat and grow some more brain cells.

Eating meat is also linked to an increased likelihood of developng diseases such as alzeihemer's and as time goes by there'll be more health problems to worry about linked to its consumption as buinesses try to keep costs low. A lot of the most intelligent people in history didnt eat meat - Da Vinci, Pythagoras, Einstein, Gandhi and Tolstoy were all vegetarians.
I didn't say that people didnt know but what i asked was how did they know and what exactly did they know? Plenty people now still have very little idea of what happens to animals in slaughterhouses. Its not the easiest place to gain entry to and in order to get videos of what happens inside of there you have to break in. How then if its so difficult now to find out what happens did people know 10 or more years ago? The meat industry wasn't giving out information to newspapers or tv or giving presentations in schools, colleges or universities informing people. They don't do it now. And the information they give out now isn't exactly plentiful or honest. I dont see how it was that people were so well informed about the practices of the meat industry 10 years ago other then knowing that animals had to die in order for them to eat meat. Im pretty sure most people, as now, believed slaughter was done humanely but now videos are being shown and the practices are becoming more understood (eg the amount of drugs the animals are given in order to speed up their rate of growth)more people are questioning what goes on in slaughterhouses and are cutting down or eliminating meat from their diet.

When you say most don't want to know what happens in slaughter houses it is a win win statement for you to back your cause.
If I needed an operation I wouldn't watch it I would just want to be made better.
I eat meat but don't want to kill it myself. animals are lower down the chain of life which is why we farm them, not them farming us.

Surely you mean eating excessive and also too much process meat as opposed to meat per se? Or does that not fit the agenda.

As for clever vegetarians, is that because or in spite of their diet? It’s ok I know the answer

The conditions that the animals are kept in, the antibiotics and the growth hormones they are given mean you are not just eating their bodies but also the drugs they have been injected with too which cannot be good for your health.

Or does that not fit the agenda.
The agenda of stopping the unnecessary caging up and killing of billions of animals and the destruction of the planet as well as reducing the likelihood of people developing diseases in later life as a result of their diet?

As for clever vegetarians, is that because or in spite of their diet? It’s ok I know the answer.
So you'll understand that clever people weighing up the pros and cons will eventually stop eating meat and the most intelligent people have always known that.

No, it shows that some of the most intelligent (by your reckoning) were vegetarians, Conversely some of them weren't

Since I have reduced meat in my diet I have definitely become more intelligent.

So vegetarianism is linked to intelligence?

Care to prove this with data?
