In the 'Window' we needed to bring in players who have a decent chance of making an impact. Hodgson couldn't trust Rakip who hasn't played for a couple of months and Jach wasn't considered good enough to make a bench containing Delaney. Total and utter hogwash.
This is it - realistically only one player was bought in that could make an impact - gambling on a player with no real top quality experience when the gaffer specifically requested a keeper, midfielder and striker all with top flight experience, it's shocking.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Edited by Willo (10 Feb 2018 5.36pm) I think it’s chickens coming home to roost. Last January we got Luka Schlupp PVA and Sakho. All of whom could start, and make a difference. This year we got Sørloth (good signing) and that’s it in terms players coming in and having an immediate impact. Not enough. All we can hope for is that injured players like Sakho, Schlupp, Kelly and most of all Zaha come back soon and we can get the 10 points we need in the run in. Not looking good

The way we played today looks like the players DONT know what to do without Zaha. they have no idea. They can NOT create chances don't know how to create chances, and Benteke cannot convert chances At 3.0 the game was over Woy should have brought Rakip on Lokilo should be on the bench & given game time. So should Wan Bissaka & Kirby. We will stay up, but seem to be making harder than it should be; subs need to be used, especially when 3 down. Why not take Benteke off & move Sørloth into the middle for the last 20 etc?

Meh We are three points clear of the drop zone with a very kind run in, with Zaha Back in the frame. We have a better chance than everyone is drossing about on here even with so many players out. We’ve been coping with key players out and constant injuries all season, and our last 17 games have hardly been terrible, have they? This..!! Just so fed up with all this negativity. As I said in another thread we haven't been able to field our first choice 11 all season. Get a few of the walking back onto the park with our run in we'll be fine. Some people on here really need to get a grip and start supporting not trolling..!! You sound like my Dad all doom and gloom - who's looking forward to the Championship next season..!! Some people only seem to raise their heads when there is some negativity that they can comment on, when things going well you don't hear from them. Makes you wonder where actually their alligencies lie..!! If the cap fits and all that..!!

To me this is an over reaction worthy of west ham. Look at teams around everybody is much of muchness. Yes its tough, yes it disappointing when we lose and yes its squeaky bum time. Don't expect from Palace mid table stability expect a struggle ever season to stay in this league just as it is for the rest apart from the usual top 6

I think that I have never "Risen to the bait" as at least you do not insult other posters directly just their enjoyment of the forum. Coming on here feeling down after a defeat yet another thread has been hijacked by your desperate need to stand out by "Instilling a sense of further doom and gloom" on an already bad day. You did suggest at the end of last year that you were likely to stop posting. If only you could keep to your "New Years resolutions." Anyway back on topic, yes we are in trouble but so are 7 or 8 other teams. We have been in trouble before and found a way out. Hopefully, we can regroup before the Spurs game and get one or two back to fitness. I thought the Sorloth looked useful today, put a shift in and nearly scored. I still think that there will prove to be 3 teams worse than us this season. Whole heartedly agree, the man is a name dropping buffoon with a desperate craving for attention.

Whole heartedly agree, the man is a name dropping buffoon with a desperate craving for attention. Thank you for the personal insults and a total misjudgement of my intentions on HOL. Perhaps you would care to return to the subject matter and NOT turn this into a vehicle for further slurs against a fellow supporter.Thank you. At the end of the day all I am doing is giving my honest and heartfelt opinions about our prospects.

yes i hate to say it but willo is right this time , why in gods name did we bring in new players that are in roys oppinion not good enough to get on the pitch . was it just to fill the bench . i remember not to long ago harris sitting with wilf and saint steve saying we will back roy in the window , well id hate to see the state of our squad if they dont back him, . with liverpool chelski and spurs coming up its not looking good with 2 points above relegation places and the teams below us picking up points. but hey we are palace it would get boring if we won every game . would be great to have a few of the walking wounded back. sam took great delight gettig one over on us . w***er!
oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton. |

And the only fit keeper is a youngster with limited first-team experience !

Keep the faith. Still 2 points above last season. The Beast will be back, hopefully for the 11 final games. Wilf will fire in the last 7 or so games. Tekkers will come good when Pards the Peacock returns, scoring a few to keep us up. COYP !!! Edited by Booted Eagle (10 Feb 2018 6.21pm)
