Your cause appears to be to convince us on this board that it is ok to call Roy, Woy because it can be explained away as just a bit of English humour. I am about as far away from the PC brigade as you can get but I draw the line at directly having a go at someone's speech impediment. Its the sort of thing that used to happen at school, not amongst adults. Sorry, I don't know your age so I don't know if you have an age related excuse for thinking like this.

Mocking any impediment either physical or mental is abhorrent in my book.

You're obviously very opionated and do not take much notice of what people post, or read between the lines or facts. All, I can say is lighten up and don't worry I can guess your age, at least mentally

It seems that there are still some on here who can't differentiate between insult and affection. Because we can all see the insult, but for the life of me, i can't see the affection in taking the piss out of a speech impediment, and however you dress it up, your trying to get a laugh, so it's taking the piss.

I wasn't in favour of appointing Roy at all but he's been brilliant and absolutely turned my opinion around. The way he has dragged us away from trouble is comparable with how Pulis, Pardew and Allardyce managed the same thing before him. The key difference for me though is that, unlike those three, there appear to be very few who would question that he's a genuinely nice bloke. With all of that in mind, I felt he was thoroughly deserving of being well backed in the transfer window and wouldn't be surprised if he was privately extremely disappointed with the situation he has been left in. Would be such a pity he if too ended up walking away.
