Until we know which Division we are in it is difficult for club and players to decide on contracts. I think that Kelly, Sako and Ward will be offered contracts and stay. I think Julian and Damo will not be offered extensions. Lapado has gone. That leaves Hennesey,Lee, McArthur and Cabaye. Lee has to earn an extension in Wilf's absence. McArthur and Cabaye will be looking for last career contract so may want to see what is offered elsewhere. Wayne I don't think will want to stay and although he will be offered contract will turn it down. On our loan players will all return to parent clubs if we are relegated. If we stay up I think RLC and Rakip will join us on permanent contracts. The question is the fee I think RLC will be about £12 million and Rakip a figure a fraction of his buy out fee( Benfica will have to decide quick profit or wait and see how he develops) Why do you think RLC will be so cheap? I think he'll cost £15m-£20m. Ross Barkley only cost £15m because his contract was due to expire in the summer.

So, you're saying we'll be paying them what we have been paying them? In other words, we'll be over paying s***e players which has been most of the problem. In reality, we'll offer those players less money which will mean other clubs will be able to challenge us for their signature. So, if Sako is on £30k now we either have to pay him the same, more than he's worth, or we'll offer £20k which Wolves might be happy to do when they get promoted. I'm sure there are not many of the 10 (excluding loaned players) we'll want to keep. Maybe 4 are PL class, if we resign the rest we're just continuing the recent trend of having poor depth. Sako is on £60k or near that, not £30k.

Sako is reportedly on £55k a week and Cabaye and RLC both on 60k a week. I don't think that replacing them, if necessary, should be that difficult so long as we don't get relegated.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

There was talk that Cabaye was on £80k-£90k when he signed because his contract upset some other players. Replacing them might not be hard but doing it for free would be and the point is we lose players for free and need to pay to replace them.

The club needs a rebuild look at the age of the players we have and half of them are not good enough the other thing is a large amount are out of contract. The training and ground needs rebuild as well which is being looked into by the club to improve these areas. I fail to see how it's moaning it's looking at the real picture a lot of you on here are wearing special glasses or your brains just do not appear to understand what is happening Well as Bodge says, lots to do,so it’s good that we have Parish in charge to continue the improvements.
