Cut what exactly? Putting 50k into a stadium does not make it good. Clubs are not driving by the weekly attendance of the average punter anymore! Thats kund of true, except, coincidently the most successful affairs have the bigger stadiums. Newcastle and Sunderland attract so many theybare able to,pay above average wages and that helps when a club isn't too successful. That's my point.

Wouldn't mind if the 'ammers were relegated ... Except their rent would then be cut under the terms of their deal and I guess the cost to the taxpayer would then increase?

Sunderland don't have a pot to p*ss in, they have so little money they have to get players on frees and loans to pay bare minimum wages. I don't know where you get your information from but it's wrong.

After thee great reviews of the TaxPayer Stadium the first time we played there, it provided me with enough incentive to never want to go there. I can only suggest their fans are deserving of such a 5hlt football stadium.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

They get their rent reduced if they get relegated? Seriously? I bet nobody else's rent gets reduced if they get relegated. And they pay this rent to the Exchequer, zat right? If so: Somebody please explain to me WTF the Exchequer is doing taking the financial risk attached to a particular Premier League football club's getting relegated.

Did any of you sign the hoc petition? They're breaching EU law with competitive advantage of this nature.

It's as obvious an example of a state aid as I've ever heard of and one which quite clearly DG IV ought to have stopped dead in its tracks.

The mistakes belonged to Khan’s Labour predecessor Ken Livingstone and the Blair government. Signing off on a stadium fit only for athletics was a massive 'Faux pas'. The only option for Boris Johnson was conversion to a multi-use venue. If Sadiq Khan wants to try and blame someone he should blame his Labour chums and the old Labour Mayor for their catastrophic planning failures. Anyhow this is all getting very political and moving away from the subject matter of the current stadium as a football venue. Edited by Willo (05 Feb 2018 12.11am)
