There is that argument and I suppose we could have returned RLC but what sort of message would that give, it's a bit callous. We loan a player on goodwill, he gets injured with us and we chuck him back to Chelski. I don't think we would be able to loan a player of his quality again, I we did that. What loaning team wouldn't think of that as very poor. We seem to have to take Jonny Williams back early every season due to injury

Gone back for treatment and to return to play for us again this season. His loan isn't going to be cancelled.

The Quote from the article... "Asked if Palace are considering to cancel the loan deal to free up a loan space in the next few days, Hodgson hasn't even contemplated it. "No," Hodgson said sharply over the idea of cancelling the deal. "We do not have anybody lined up we want to loan that would even encourage us to send Ruben Loftus-Cheek back. "Secondly, we are optimistic that many of us are in the club from the chairman downwards, we still think he might recovery from this injury quicker than has initially been suggested."

Once they’re all fit well have six/seven! Given Delaney's age, Dann's injury, Reidewald seen more as a defensive mid, I see nothing wrong with signing a young centre half with one eye on the future.

I actually think our board are great, however we have a terrible transfer system / game plan / play book, we had two targets as red hot needs, a GK and a striker, and again it’s coming down to the wire with most of our linked targets disappearing off to rivals or going abroad, Watford now have a GK, Brighton early doors got a striker, then added another on loan, we have been in this league for 5 years now, you can’t play the premier league on a shoestring budget in January .. every club knows we need a striker and a GK, there going to want big bucks. Ok Swansea, stoke and Newcastle arnt really setting the world on fire wit here transfers (or lack of) but we should be comparing against your Watford’s, Southampton’s and to a higher degree Everton’s, we are the 26th richest club in the world, of course other clubs will milk us for money, that’s part of being in the premier league, we should have had 2 clear 1st 2nd choice striker targets and payed the money to get them early doors, babcar is getting silly now, Dembele we should just but the bullet and pay for. If we don’t get a decent striker then I’m afraid that’s relegation planning right there. The two players in are squad players, we need a decent striker who can go straight into the first team and a GK that can do the same.

it does seem strange that we can't get a striker in. We're going right down the pecking order now with the latest rumours but to that point, were we looking at players who are way above what we can attract and afford? Maybe we need a reality check and need to understand that the top 5 players on our strikers list were never going to come here so we should have started at no.6 and worked from there. There's something not right. You can't say that there are no strikers in the whole world good enough for us and affordable, surely?

I understand the analogy and I suspect many are sharing these sentiments. It would appear some of our rivals have purchased and are looking to purchase genuine first teamers who can be brought straight in to the side to make an impact whereas ourselves are looking to 'Cover' players.Indeed we need cover due to the strength of our squad but it seems that this is the strategy given that we have spent some £70 Mill in 2017. But that has to be the daftest quote of the window.

We appear to have a meltdown on hol during every window. What we must understand is that clubs will keep their players until the last minute to get the best price. It's a game of cat and mouse. Chill people.
