Was brilliant for England in centre mid, but shunted out wide when playing for Palace. Still don't understand that.

He played like 1 match. 1 match! How much brilliance was there??

Or do you mean in the U21s? Ok, he was good against the mighty youth teams of Kazahstan and Norway

It was 2 and the quality of the opposition cannot be called into question.

And the Toulon tournament isn't against poor U21 opposition either. He was player of the tournament.

Optimistic as ever

The guy was different gravy for us. An athlete who was a cut above anything else we had (except Zaha) For some strange reason Roy insisted on playing him out on the left wing which clearly isn't his position.

However he does strike me as very injury prone for such a young lad which is a real shame.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Conte liked him as a striker not that long ago - I think we should keep our fingers crossed and hope he's back before the end of the season.

Players are insured against injury, so their wages and treatment should be covered.

Bit of a cvntish situation, though

I believe most clubs self insure due to the costs of premiums.

Please don't question his talent! He was outstanding in his first England game vs Germany (they don't come much better than them). Yes, he's injury prone, but will toughen up and yes, would like to see Roy play him more in the middle. Guess it was for the team's balance....and I don't think any keyboard manager knows better than Sir Roy!

Just where do you start? Wickham doesn't appear to be even close to playing again. Am I right in saying he's played less games than anyone else on the books. Pape is getting there after his bad accident but still spends most of his time on the bench. I still say Benteke is a waste of money. Get rid while you can still get a fiver for him. Roy is doing a brilliant job but really needs to replace many areas. Keeper! Hennesy hopeless, Defenders generally are not consistant. 4 goals in 20 mins! Unforgivable. With so many players injured it makes me wonder about their level of fitness. Puliss made that the priority but I don't think it is the case now. I just hope we don't end up with the finest stadium in the Championship.

No your wrong several players have played less than Wickham’s 34 games.

Wickham is not a sicknote. He’s had one very bad injury to date in his career. That is the current injury which is an A/C. That doesn’t make him a sicknote. His injury record prior to this big one is standard fare stuff. Never had an injury keeping him out for more than 8 games before this one.
