When will people realise that just because WE want them to sign for us, maybe the players and their agents don’t really fancy us as a decent prospect. So far as I can see there is only one player who said that he didn't want to come to us

One suspect that if they do well, Hodgson will take the credit as they were "His players", if they prove failures it will all be down to Parish and Freedman ! Why? Everyone seems to be blaming Pardew for signing Jordan Mutch and not the chairman

Furthermore, and I could be wrong about this, perhaps Pardew was blamed at a time when he was being blamed for everything due to our abject results ! Edited by Willo (01 Feb 2018 10.09am)

My word.It will really be a 'Dagger through the heart' of many of our supporters if, God forbid, we are relegated. And spare a thought for staff members who might lose their jobs should this be our fate. Will be devastating for them.Yes nobody will be "Killed" but let's not play down the affect it will have.

We've got what we've got. That includes the three guys coming in, Hodgson and Parish. It is fine to either gripe, look on the bright side, (c) do both, (d) do neither or (e) do something else - all depending upon personal disposition. The fact is that the only thing we can do now is to get behind the club and hope that we finish seventeenth or higher, which given our hellish start to the season would have seemed to have been heady aspirations a few months ago.

Absolutely right. We were "Dead and buried" at one stage with little, if any, chance of survival. We now have a decent chance which we never expected.

You always support this type of sentiment Willo but then follow it up with a hugely negative post about being ‘highly concerned’ about the next game or ‘highly disappointed’ about the last game/transfer window. I cannot wait for the January window to be scrapped so we only have this whole saga once a year. We haven’t lost anyone to a rival and we have signed 3 players who at least give us more experienced numbers in the squad so technically we are stronger than we were on the 31st December. The independent has quoted two other premier league scouts who declared that we have pulled off a real coup by signing the young Norwegian so hopefully he will come good. Had we also got Guaita and Amadou across the line we would have had a brilliant window. As it is, I think Merson scored it about right when he gave us a B-. Our genuine first team squad is still very light however and very vulnerable to injuries and loss of form.
