Imo proper blokes don't whine and don't see themselves as victims when they aren't. They could be gay or straight, gentle or physical, a seven stone weakling or twenty stone wrestler. ? I know you're a literalist but for god's sake....an ounce isn't even a liquid measure. So Kermit's 'proper bloke' doesn't complain about anything......So regardless of the situation....nothing said. Well, I'm not Kermit's sexist stereotype...Kermit you wouldn't know a 'proper bloke' from your weedy arms. When it comes to talking about what it is to be a male mate.....I'd probably get more sense listening to the gentle gay seven stone weakling. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Dec 2017 8.12pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Dec 2017 8.12pm) It's called stoicism. A good attribute. The opposite being exhibited in whiny menopausal males who sound more like Pauline Fowler than James Bond

For sure, I connect masculinity to strength, both mental and physical. Though these are stereotypes, for example Freddie Mercury was both gay and not particularly physically strong but very masculine. Edited by Stirlingsays (31 Dec 2017 9.52am)

As usual you reveal that your knowledge of masculinity is about as sound as your claimed for patriotism.

Is this the same chap who was rails against violence, even if against neo-nazis? A lisp is a lisp. No big deal. I was referring to Freddie's overall demeanour which you think is very masculine. I find that interesting. Hairy chests do it for you then?

I don't believe in violence just because someone holds an opinion I don't agree with. However, what happens between men and insults between them is another world entirely. That's for them. Yep, Freddie Mercury was a great example of masculinity. You can find that as interesting as you like. They are your stereotypes and you are entitled to them.
