The great thing about Roy is that he see's what the fans see and makes the right calls.

ie dropping Punch.

Last night he was man of the match for me.

At half time he changed personnel and formation to affect the game in the second half.

Under that "someone's grandad" exterior there's a smart football brain at work.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

Ironic that all the other managers, the ship jumpers, the crud, the inconsistent, the wrong fit, get three year contracts from our Chairman but this old fella, probably going to be the best overall out of all of them, only gets two.

Sounds to me like Roy will soon be in line for a bumper new contract then.

He will want to stay always assuming that he is successful in keeping us up.
After the England debacle I can see CPFC being his final Club.
Keep us up - tsart to nuild for the future and then head upstairs.
I hope so anyway!
I was underwhelmed by his appointment but this means so much to him and I love him for that as well as his obvious talents!
I am a convert!

I would love Roy to stay 2 or 3 years. Sort us out and then be in the stand with Bright and Parish. He is a quality manager, for a team like ours anyway. Hopefully Parish will learn from his time in the PL that we need managers like Roy and forget the tiki taka we are unlikely to have players to play. The only exception to that would be Brendan Rodgers imo

Just heard the comedian and Palace fan Kevin Davies on Talksport. He was very complimentary about Roy. Kevin is a trustee of a Palace charity so is a regular at the club. Said Roy unlike other previous unnamed managers was very interested and supportive of the charity.

Kevin thinks the atmosphere at the club is excellent as Roy is the type of guy who knows the cleaners name.

When asked why he thought Roy had failed at Liverpool and England, he suggested big players and big egos. I must admit this sounds plausible to me. Did the England team really buy into his tactics? Did they trust him?

Of course Kevin is not an expert but I think there is some logic in this.

Anyway Their loss is our gain.

Everything about him is very classy.

Even ignoring that, he's unbeaten in 10 of our last 11 games. That is genuinely ridiculous. That's a rate of less than 4 defeats a season - there will be teams that have won the title and not done that.

I thought we were nailed on for relegation. If we were to survive, it was going to take all season and we might nip out on the last 2 weekends. To be 22 from 22 is utterly incredible. I think a better effort than Dyche.

I would also love this...I have been so impressed with Roy and his demeanor as well as his ability to suss players out quickly. he clearly has the respect of the fringe players also with Hennessey saying "we all love him to bits" after the Man City game!
