It has been stated that the p*** that was viewed was illegal under the new government puritanical p*** laws that saw benign fetish stuff and the like made illegal. Sure this happened before that, but 'hoisted by his own petard' comes to mind.

I give the political debates the old "Body swerve" and generally do NOT even peruse them as not only would they bring on hypertension they would turn into WILLO threads and we have had enough of them to last a lifetime. So no more from on this thread.Won't even bother to look at it's contents.
Edited by Willo (21 Dec 2017 10.23am) But you're happy to throw out the hard left bollocks. Tsk.

I get a bit miffed on over sensitivity regards sex....which the country is still so frigging obsessed about....but it was certainly very unprofessional......though rather deliciously.....like some teenager caught with his 'hand in the cookie jar'...so to speak.... he still claimed it wasn't him. I didn't realise how much previous there was between Bob Quick and the Tories.

This matter really has nothing to do with which side of the political fence anybody finds themselves but the ability to exercise professional conduct properly and within high office for which working at Parliament is meant to represent. Westminster needs to clean up its act with Green probably just the tip of the iceberg. They should be leading by example given that we elect them with the expectation that they are working to serve our needs ...rather than metaphorically raising the middle finger at that duty to access extreme p*** at frequent levels during working hours.

I think there are several things going on. Green should go for lying, if there isn't already, there should be a strict protocol about what ex police officers do with privileged information after they've left, and why were none of these meeting diarised.

If it is how Green and before him Fallon, maintain, then they are wrong to resign as it is seen as an admission of guilt. 'You are resigning so it must be true' If the PM wants to sack you that's her problem and you are not tainted by refusing to go voluntarily. Remember what Geoffrey Howe did to Margaret Thatcher after she sacked him, a former staunch ally.

Did the Police Officer get paid by the papers for the information or did he give it freely?

Perhaps we should simply sack ALL politicians that lie to Parliment...but if we did...how many would be left?
