Venables has to be blacklisted. He destroyed Allison's team of the eigties and our last big chance of a long stint in the top flight for personal gain and then nearly destroyed the club in his second stint demanding full payment for his contract when we went into administration. To think he is our second best manager just highlights what a terrible bunch of managers we have had.

I would put Bert Head probably at number two.

Totally agree, still a huge chance it would have gone tits up, but there were signs of improvement and he definitely wasn't given enough time, as you say, we'll never know now.

Haha a great though at times scary day! Big Mal walked up to the Shed End and held up the fingers of both hands to show what he thought the score would be. They were howling with rage. Other than that though, two successive relegations and failure to win promotion from the old Third Division mean that for me he was a disaster. My top three are 1. Coppell, 2. Venables and 3. Head.
