FAKE NEWS !! Quelle surprise mentioned in the reliable Independent

Have you read Hansard or are you taking Guido's word for it because I'll be interested in where "Tory MP after Tory MP stood up and agreed that animals are sentient"

Hence the need for Michael Gove to come out with what he said today.

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

It does. You're wrong. You crucially missed out the 3rd section of the introduction of the act.

Which covers who is responsible for, or ownership, of animals.

Nothing in there to say you can harm or kill animals at will.

As I said in my first post, this wasn't needed, and the link Jimenez has now provided should end any concerns.

Not Hansard is it. The link proves the point that Gove had to make the statement.

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 doesn't cover animal sentience and really only applies to domestic animals and animals in the wild and laboratories are expressly exempt.

So you are completely confident that the Government will act fully in accordance with Michael Gove's statement. Remember Gove and his £350m a week for the NHS.

the fact he came out and made the statement after all the furore says something... these politician folk are not particularly trustworthy by any measure either...

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

One thing is pretty much certain when we go it alone and for as long as The Tories retain power is that quality control in all manner of areas will be slowly eroded. It's what they do and what they are very good at.
