Beating brum 0-6 away in 87 was a bit special, and the funny thing was a mate of ours missed it after donkeys years of never missing an away game, of course we didn't wind him up about it for years after!!

The two that spring to mind are Stockport away and the 2004 playoff final.

Probably 2004 playoff is my favourite, the whole weekend from start to finish was immense.

Special mention to when we beat Millwall 4-1 at The Den with George Ndah scoring the softest overhead kick I've ever seen.

Many memorial games down the years but these stand out:

Leeds away, FA Cup, 76, 0-1. Leeds were full of stars just defeated in European Cup Final, third division Palace played them off the park. Same cup run, Chelsea and Sunderland away, again Palace played them off the park. Big Mal's fedora, happy dayzzz!

Wrexham away midweek, 1977'ish, had to win by two clear goals to keep promotion hopes alive, did it by the skin of our teeth in dying seconds.

Sunderland away, 2004 championship play off 2nd round, 2-3, get in!

Liverpool away, 78, FA Cup, 0-0, Liverpool European Champions, Keegan, Highway and all, great 3rd division Palace team matching stride for stride. Unlucky to lose the replay 2-3.

Any Millwall away, too numerous to mention but always very satisfying.

Many more to come I'm sure, keep the faith!

Sunderland 2004 - I thought we lost the away leg 2-1 but won on penalties. From what I remember we won the first leg at home on a Friday night 3-2 although having been down the pub all afternoon my memory of that night is a bit vague.

Blackburn away 1984-85 , evening game, we won 1-0, Micky Droy heading a ball towards goal from a corner and Irvine flicked it in. Drove up and went into a nearby pub had dinner and a few drinks and not one other person came in. Parked next to the ground and we had 77 supporters standing with me, may have been a few more in the seats.
Always enjoyed Barnsley away having got the big terrace to ourselves and the pies were always fantastic

Villa park semi final will always be the one for me , there with my old man. With the aid of rose tinted glasses that will never be beaten.
Remember Sunderland away on the Tuesday night in the playoffs , seeing a young kid going mental and telling his old man to never let him to forget that night quite aggressively, lucky he never gave me a dig.
Plough Lane, Wrighty Hatrick
Crewe away Johnson hatrick.
Best away atmosphere by a mile was at West Brom last game of the season when they got promoted. The baggies were the loudest I’ve ever heard. We were with a mate from Birmingham and ended up at their main pub, the marksman. We was the only Palace there , West Brom were enjoying promotion and riot police turned up. Me and my mate stood in a door way having a becks watching the West Brom and old bill chase each other up and down the Rd, then see our other Palace mate at the front of the West Brom shouting ‘ let’s do them, come on baggies’. We were cracking up.
We ended up paralytic with a load of West Brom, some of them with machetes going to wolves main pub, luckily there wasn’t many there.
Woke up in brownhills In our mates flat watching the midlands equivalent to London Tonight , showing our Palace mate on a shops flat roof throwing milk bottles at the old bill.

Also went tranmere away twice in 2 seasons, when Ashley Cole was on loan, the second visit we’d had the Friday night in Blackpool, didn’t bother going to the game. Just stayed in Blackpool on the piss. Does that one count as an away day?

Third best was Sunderland away in the FA Cup (I got trollied, the train was late and I got beaten up outside the ground, which only made it sweeter)

Second best was Wrexham away 4-2 (against all expectations we got promoted. This was a school day too, from what I remember, so I shouldn't have been there)

Best ever was Wimbledon away at Selhurst Park. OK< we lost, but we totally owned the ground. Owned it. I mean almost literally.
