priceless! Wasn't free pal. Now bowling is either for the kids to waste cash or a sh1t night out for workplaces that can't think of anywhere else to go. People pretending to enjoy themselves. Would rather watch emmerdale.

Wow. That stirred something from the murky depths of my memory as I used to hang about at the Charrington Bowling Alley when it first opened many decades ago. Did you pop next door to the Toby Jug to see Bowie?
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Did you see Clapton cry when Hendrix played the Marquee? I never made it to the Marquee which was surprising as it was part of "the tour" in those days and I never saw Hendrix live either. I did see an up and coming band at Ewell Technical College though called Graham Bond Organisation and was captivated by their magnificent young ginger haired drummer. I suppose that in hindsight one of the most memorable concerts that I went to in the early sixties was at Cheam Baths where they covered the actual baths with wooden floorboards and Dave Clark Five were singing their latest hit Glad All Over accompanied by our foot stamping.
