I accept this but one really has to be realistic at times.A calculated decision will need to be made by the 'Board' depending of course on our plight at that time and the circumstances.

Doing quick maths which may be completely wrong. Our wage bill is about £80m. There's "only" £20m shortfall. Given we have 3 players worth £20m plus on £5m pounds a year contract I think we would possibly be far more financially sound if religated than I previously thought. Hopefully, this will significantly reduce the likelihood of selling lots of players in January.

He has the right to leave us this summer - if a bigger club came in and he could win trophies, i personally wouldn't begrudge him, esp if we got 40 - 50 mil for him. let's be realistic - he signed that big deal to do us a favour - more $$ to prize him away. I look at the yala situation - money can be wisely spent else where.

Just rampant speculation with a figure plucked out of the air. I note this 'Revelation' was followed by W.Ham supposedly interested in Danny Ings - A player who has made just 13 apps since the start of season 2015/16 and his 1 and only appearance this season was back in September.

Nothing to do with the alleged £110,000 per week then That could also work in our favour though, as Arsenal and Spurs don't like digging deep for wages and would they be willing to match or up Zaha's wages? Realistically Zaha will not go for anything less than £40 million when you consider his age, long contract and the current market. Therefore when you add on a 5-year contract at £110k a week you are looking at a minimum of almost £70 million to get him. More likely Parish will want north of what Everton paid for Sigurdsson (£45 million), and unless we are relegated I believe that's what he will stick to. So really we're looking at £80+ million for a player who has never played in the Champions league, has no significant international experience and who has not proven that they can perform for a bigger team. Based on all of that I would say the chances of him leaving in January are tiny and the chances of a summer exit are all down to which league we are in. The only positive if we get relegated is that we could make £100 million in transfer fees from selling Zaha, Bentenke, Townsend and one or two others, which would at least stave off a financial collapse and allow us the chance to rebuild (not that I want that, I'm just saying). Here's hoping Zaha stays long enough to get a testimonial and become the ultimate Palace legend

Only and best way to keep wilf is to stay up and replace all the crap in the first team squad with players that can actually pass and have stamina and look like they belong. You don't lose 9 games out of eleven at the beginning of a season unless the squad is simply not good enough. It's a big job that. So much deadwood.

How many years has he been returned now with that exact issue lingering over us. The problem for me is that with Parish at the helm making all footballing decisions, all we'll ever do is fire fight until we inevitably run out of chances. Even if we stay up this season, he's sent a clear message that he does not have time for anyone trying to adapt our style of play and instant results are all that matter. The truth is we can throw as much at this as we want, becoming a better footballing side is the only thing that will see us truly progress as a club. Throwing out the deadwood and spending another fortune on a load of other journeymen and mavericks will do nothing if we continue to operate with the same short sighted mindset and reckless leadership. Parishes obsession with artificial and instant "success" means he will abandon progressing the clubs infrastructure and footballing culture out of pure desperation for survival - it's a ticking timebomb waiting to explode and each near miss just equals more damage when it does. If Wilf wants to go then I really can't see how any fan of his would try and stand in his way. He deserves to go to a professionally run outfit and shine. He's earned this and owes us nothing more in my opinion. Edited by Mstrobez (14 Nov 2017 4.00pm)

The Pardew 2nd window taking a chance on one crucial specialist position and the Frank window a complete shambles from the moment Parish got on the plane to Spain to 11pm on 31st August, because of taking too long, not having clear agreements or them being ignored, poor communication and not even being around during newcomer having difficulty or issues, many caused by him that could've been solved there and then with main shareholder present rather than one hand on karaoke mic or water boarding rope and one hand on the mobile. Found out last season. Got away with it. Surely the same can happen again and again. These seasoned pro managers. What do they know. Who needs the first 3 games? Sign as many as possible in the last hour. Always works. Provide a manager with a squad early enough in the summer after agreeing reasonable finances. Don't and even keeping style is tough. Changing it with that approach is doomed to fail.

Is there a chance that he has a relegation clause in his contract, that he can leave if we're relegated for a specific fee?
