I don't vote anymore, I am totally disillusioned by politics.

It seems every factor and issue of daily life has to center around a dividing line and whether you take a left or right wing view on it.

Well i'm not right or left, i'm neither and I think most people are the same, it's only the politicians that carry on with the class divide pantomime and the few morons that still buy into these ideologies.

When it comes to Leaving the EU or whether we need a high speed rail line or changing certain laws etc, I would like to see a group of intelligent people with no political leaning, get together, agree and do what's best for Britain. instead we have a bunch of egotistical, lying maniacs who only ever take opposing views and do their utmost to slag eachother off where the argument always goes back to the rich or poor in society. They don't represent us they only represent themselves and a vision of Britain from 40-50 years ago, it's boring.

They should scrap the whole political system and start again

On occasion I've thought that we could elect MPs in the same manner that we select juries (i.e. random members of the public), they would present policies etc in the way MPs do now.

Then everyone in the UK would, using Information Technology, vote on those presented proposals.

Granted it seems absurd at first, but the more I think about it, the more democratic I think it is. That we the people, become responsible for running our country and voting on proposals.

Where peoples politics are absurdly stark you may as well just ask, what damaged and warped your view of your fellow countrymen.

Everyone is a c**t, its really just a question of how much of a c**t they are, and whether they're my kind of c**t. So by default, my fellow country men are also c**ts, as am I.

I'm not sure the Pol Pot started politics again. They just moved from politics to killing anyone who might vaguely hold political thoughts.

A hero of the left at the time - especially Noam Chomsky.

Everyone makes mistakes. Believing in the idea of heroes is one of them.

Good question this. From experience, an interest in politics seems to be passed down the family line. I had political parents but it wasn't till I got to uni that the spark went off in my head and I went very far to the left.

As for now, I would still unashamedly call myself a leftie. For me, being left wing means believing that all political energies should go towards helping out the disadvantaged in society in the battle they face against the elites, while being right wing is often the belief that there is little point trying so you have to make the most of it yourself.

Plato's Republic is revealing on politics even though it was written thousands of years ago.

I recommend it to those interested in politics who haven't read it.....you can listen to it free on Youtube.

If you don't vote, fine, but then what's the point of talking about politics?

Nope.

People don't have to be perfect to be heros.

It's a personally defined category.
