We get $2m in the kitty, but Everton are almost certain to be out of the bottom three reasonably quickly.

I think I'd have to take the view that Everton would probably achieve this anyway, so another $2m for doing nothing would be handy. Might not buy a great deal, but would pay a couple of our first team players for another year if we were to go down.

Now we don't argue [I am one of the few who don't] but I would say it was the "control freak" buying 2 left sided players and loaning Sakho that kept us up.

Conversely, it was SA who caused our team to lose 4-0 at home to the bottom team; to lose most of our last games [save Hull]; and to unexpectedly walk out without giving the club a chance to do sufficient due diligence on a new manager [unlike Watford] which is likely to be one of the main reasons why we were rushed into the de Boer hire.

I do appreciate he also coached us to stuff the Gooners which almost off-sets the Maccam debacle; but it is the last point that I believe is the primary reason we are in this mess.
