yes, i think he is...defo most technically gifted player ive ever seen in a palace shirt. if he stays for another few years will end the best ever all round. i dont think we have had a talisman like him for as long as i can remember, i am 35 btw The most technically gifted player to pull on a Palace shirt was Lombardo, shame he was in the twilight of his career. He was just on another level.

At the moment, he is our best player. But, to eclipse Vince Hilaire he needs to keep doing it. Loved Hilaire - I grew up watching him, however he is not in Zaha's league. Vince had some of the trickery but would normally take on one too many which often meant no real end product.

Yes ... always gets everyone up of their seats when he attacks. Because we know he can make something happen. I love him.

On his day he can be unplayable. The problem is referees will let defenders of the more errm agricultural variety gang up on him and kick him to bits. I forget who reffed the Huddersfield game but it was an absolute disgrace - they piled into him and assaulted him again and again and in the end put him out of action, and the ref barely gave a free kick, never mind the deck of cards that should have resulted from such behaviour. Get defenders who can't or won't do that and / or give them enough else to think about, and they can't handle him. David Luis wilted the first time Wilf ran at him with the ball and Townsend gave Chelsea plenty else to worry about. The second half today was rather similar. For our next trick: turning that into goals.

His stay was short, but what a player. sorry but i dont think he is “someway short” lets be honest here. when hes playing he gets everybody of their seat just imagine if he play playing in citehs team, he would look twice as good, and thats scary the reality is, hes so much better than our club right now, however much it pains me to say it.

This thread is turning into a replica of many predecessors. Is it permitted to include keepers? If not I’ll put in a word for Don Rogers, Cliff Holton, Peter Taylor and Dougie. Oh yes, and Dave Swindlehurst. Not forgetting that Murray fellow.

For those who didn't see Vince at the play look at this and ignore Alan Mullery's racism. He was such a great player.

Purely for a bit of perspective and because he plays in the same position....Arjen Robben is/was a master compared to the (when comparing) still student Wilf.
