OK. How much does the average student repay every month in fees? Do you actually know? Public sector workers have been capped because they received disproportionately high wage rises under the last stupid overspending Labour government. Is spending taxpayers money on building council houses so that we can house more immigrants a policy that makes sense to you?

Student loans came in early '90s by Major I think. Labour introduced tuition fees. Labour had a target of 50% into university. Tories increased the fees to be completely paid by students. This has got out of control. To think you're only going to pay interest it'll surely put those off going onto less academic courses, causing companies to recruit a level leavers and train them.

You're correct. That 50% idea was irresponsible. Post Brexit there's going to be shake ups everywhere and adjusting will be crucial.

Strawman alert. They were paid a disproportionate amount under the last overspending government. That is one of the reasons why we have had to tighten the belt under this government. I know you will have some contrived excuse for that but the reality is that you can't spend what you don't have.

Doesn't really matter who 'initially pledges what', what is important is that the right thing gets done. Problem I have with Labour and the Conservatives, I wouldn't trust either party after the last 27 years to sell me a turd in a bucket, without lying about the bucket.

I agree with this entirely - other than I would add the Lib Dem’s to my distrust list, as they have something of a track record on this matter!
