Seemed to be perfectly OK to refer to his predecessor as "De Bore", though. Funny that. Perhaps different rules apply if you're s***e? So far as I can recall that was just one dickhead who thought that he was being funny so he kept on repeating his side splitting joke. I do wonder whether any of these keyboard warriors would call him Woy to his face or is it just hiding behind anonymity on the internet that they become daring

I thought the purpose of the thread heading was to appreciate the job he did on Chelsea on Saturday, but YMMV. I'd be surprised if Hodgson gave a toss about people referring to him as "Woy" on some internet forum somewhere. Seemed to be perfectly OK to refer to his predecessor as "De Bore", though. Funny that. Perhaps different rules apply if you're s***e? And they're still broadcasting the Only Fools and Horses epsiode about Tony Angelino who can't sing songs with Rs in them. It was on UK Gold the other week.
Great point. I also wonder if the Frosties advert mocked stuttering? If it did its surely yet another sign that we should definitely continue to take the piss out of our manager, because that was on TV too. Hopefully someone can start another thread mocking his speech impediment after the Newcastle game, it's simply hilarious.

If you replace the "man" with an actual person then is it still a joke or is it a mean spirited attack on some poor fella who's had his arms amputated? Its not about being politically correct its about not being an ass. Roys just pulled of a minor miracle in turning around the team from what we saw at old trafford to sat afternoon and instead of giving him the plaudits he deserves guys still come on here and make fun of him. And the fact that the sun and big bang theory employ these methods of "wit' should be a surefire indicator that it aint funny at all. Doctors do it about their patients, soldiers about their colleagues.including using names

It's not the same as making fun of someone with a speech problem that has zero impact on his ability to manage palace. Calling him Woy is a personal attack, whether you do it in jest or not, it isn't really your call.

Saying it behind their patients or colleagues back is mean and to their face is just cruel. But Just cos someone else does something doesn't make it ok. I'm sure growing up we all had someone ask us if your best mate jumped off a cliff would you do it too?

Doctors yes do it behind their backs, but soldiers do it openly and to the colleague directly. Now call me a bleeding heart but aren't you being offensive?

I'm not name calling, i'm using descriptive terms based on their behavior. That is in line with personal choice and something completely within their own control. If you cant see the difference in that and making fun of someone's speech impediment or amputated arms then there's really not much more i care to say to you. Agree, 1. I doubt RH looks at HOL. 2. If he did I doubt he'd be overly offended. 3. the O/P was just have a bit of fun at Rh expense (may not be particularly funny but hardly a hanging offence)
