They rabid anti-Super Als have to think like that because the alternative is horrendous. He stayed, we recovered and are now stable on 8pts and quite an entertaining outfit.

If we had bought a good value left back originally and not from his usual panini album we would've saved ourselves a few quid not having to spend so much on both Schlupp and PVA. The def mid area was solved very well with Luca. Frank is to blame in not utilitising him and others correctly. You could argue the moment Pardew paid Cabaye £80k and publicly stated how much better he was also laid the seeds of relegation, along with Benteke. But I believe we could operate with those big signings if you plan ahead and don't take chances or liberties in this league so it's not my opinion. Maybe if we do go down and bounce back we won't go down that road next time under Parish.

If Pardew had stayed we would have been relegated last season. Can't blame him if we get relegated this time around, because Allardyce undid the damage Pardew inflicted on our fitness and defensive organisation, and left us in a decent position in the summer.

Exactly what damage has he done ? We were promoted with him as Chairman. The best two managers in our recent history both walked out without us ever having the chance to make plans for a replacement. I do not understand some people's logic. Last season we had no cover for left back and that was Pardew's fault. This season we have a completely unbalanced squad, with 8 centre backs and just one striker and that's apparently Parish's fault. I am sure SP is a hands on Chairman, maybe too much at times, but our current problems with our squad is the fault of De Boer. He had plenty of time to address what was required and report to SP with what he considered we needed to move forward. The fact that this did not happen is probably one of the reasons why he was dismissed. My goodness you have a very sexy pair of Parish loving specks on!

I'm staggered you are asking this question, five season in PL and we have stood still, 8 managers, sick bay full of expensive players who's antecedence as far as fitness was concerned was suspect when they first arrived, 79 home PL games and only 26 wins in the five years to-date, inability to make quick and sound decisions, allowed Pardew to continue far too long, when it was clear that between Christmas and the Cup Final he had completely lost the plot as far as PL form was concerned, the worst start to PL season since records began, here we are in October still waiting for our first goal let alone win or even one point, need I go on?

He's been busy finalising his purchase of ten luxury apartments overlooking the marina in Southampton recently. I don't expect him to release a statement about that either. If he talks on social media he gets slated, if he doesn't talk on social media he gets slated. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

I'm not expecting a 'Sackcloth and ashes' statement from the club. In the old days there used to be a fans forum where the Chairman and manager used to be seated on stage and took questions from the floor - I remember Noades/Coppell being subjected to questions regarding why Pardew was in the team ! I suspect if one was organised in the near future it would disintegrate into virulent bile being hurled at Parish perhaps intersperses with 'Industrial Language'.Not heard of any plans to hold such an event.
