I travelled by bus, plane, train and taxi to be at the manure game yesterday and my 11 year old thought we played like a non league team but he made a few good points
1 why did players who had a chance to shoot - townsend and cabaye especially -constantly lay the ball out wide for people to cross to a non existent centre forward ?
2 did we waste money on sakho or is he just rusty ?
3 why are the fans blaming parish when clearly its de boer who failed to sign strikers ? ps i'm watching the guy we nearly signed from everton on tv and thank god we saved our money for the next window.
4 we lost our number 1 keeper- steeeve- and de boer failed to get in another.
As i tried to convince him ( and myself ) when we put these matters right, get wilf back and settle on our best eleven, we'll have the last laugh.
Catch just one team by xmas, catch another by easter and catch a 3rd by may and we'll celebrate a great escape ps a league cup win should help seal the film deal.

Why blame FDB. It was SP decision to blow the transfer budget on MS . With him playing we've now shipped
9 goals. We are where we are because we're crap. They'll be no RLC against Chelsea, another inevitable thrashing coming our way. I'd just like to say thank you to SP for saving our beloved Palace......and please now hand the reins of control on to someone who knows what they are doing. I do sincerely hope we survive but if we do drop all those over paid squad members we have will soon pocket the parachute payments. Administration now looks inevitable .

Yes we can, we're unbelievably only 6 points from safety. January window will be crucial to survival. Get that right and we're in with a shout.. I like our April fixtures, can see us doing it.

Mathematically, of course we could still survive but realistically, we've all seen the poor performances out on the pitch and unfortunately it's going to be a long way back from there. The team has looked clueless and inept.

I can't see any money being thrown at the team in January for a pointless (literally!) relegation battle so we'll have to make do with what we have.

Tight wad Parish cocked up big time with the striker fiasco on deadline day and although maybe saved a few pennies on Sakho, he could have been bought weeks earlier and used from the start of the season.

Can we escape from this terrible start. I personally think we can. It's going to take an awful lot of hard work but it can be done. Roy has recognised that punch isn't up to starting games and that ward is too shaky at right back. Things that people had seen long ago. It gives me confidence that he isn't just keeping to the same old script (apart from losing). I really believe that once some lads return from injury and we eventually score or get a point then we might see a different palace.
We have to keep with team, I know it's difficult but giving up on the team however much of a mess they are in won't help. Big game against Chelsea and if we Nick a point it might be the start of something. Here's to hope! But I'll be there getting behind the team. We can survive.

For me it all depends on the spirit in the dressing room after Chelsea. If we are feeling sorry for ourselves and go on to lose another 2 or 3 games before finally getting that first win then sadly no. Too much to do in not enough games. But....
If we are getting key players back from injury, Hodgsons message is getting across, the defence is tightening up and the midfield are creating chances AND our players still have a never say die determined attitude then yes. Bit by bit, game by game we can chip away at the deficit and one day (probably not till February or March) we'll look at the table and see we're out the bottom 3.
Yes, why not. If we're going to have a run as bad as this you want it at the very beginning of the season not the middle or the end.

I think because of the rule changes we'll struggle to survive. When it used to be 3 points for a win, with a fit squad I'd give us a chance because we're only 5 points from safety.

Now that isn't the case I'm going to be like a lot of other palace 'fans' and just write the season off. I'll be there next season on the championship though, hope they are too.

If only those 3 points for a win days were back. We'd only be two wins from safety and everyone would be ready for the fight. Sad times.

I'm completely confused by this.

I can't see us surviving personally. But...and it's a big but, in order to have any chance we are going to need to win 4 games and get a couple of draws out of the remaining 11 games until the season gets to the halfway stage. That will give us 14 points so we will then need 6 wins plus draws from the remaining 19. I can't see it happening but teams have survived from impossible positions before.

How many times must people be reminded of this simple fact? He was injured until about a fortnight ago.

Unless I’m wrong and he’s living in a parallel universe, I think he’s trying to convey sarcasm. What he means is that we are only two wins from safety, the season is young, so why are so many people on here full of doom and gloom.

It's possible but unlikely I think. Too many players playing well below their ability - Puncheon, Dann, Cabaye, Benteke, Ward, a weak goalkeeper and rock bottom confidence.

Losing 7/8 games is not the worst thing - we always lose more than that over a season, but it is still tough. What's worse is the lack of goals, because that absolutely saps confidence and belief. If you can't score at all, then you have no chance.

The last 2 games and the next one, don't matter so much, but as I just read someone else say - losing to Swansea and Huddersfield at home and in the manner we did are the portentous aspect.

We're not done, but this really will be the great escape after all the records we've set. Do we have the manager and players to do it? I couldn't say for sure we do.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

Everton’s performance today made ours yesterday look pretty decent & gives me more hope than I already had.

We’ve been worse off & survived with a considerably lesser squad - with our support anything’s possible.

Of course we can. We always do things the hard way. This season we've decided to give everyone a head start just to keep things interesting

We MUST get the January transfer window right. If the £40m rumour is true then i'd be happy if we just bought a decent GK & ST (maybe £15m on a GK. £25m on a ST)
If everyone else can stay fit we'll be ok.
