Nobody has been a successful England manager since Alf Ramsey, Roy's term in charge was no different to the many that have gone before him. They all got the England managers job as they were very good club managers, but the job is a poison chalice.
I have read nothing but high praise from former players in club sides he has managed, he will do a good job for us.
If idiots give him stick, it's because they have limited intelligence.

Manager of the English team is a poison chalice with the cliques of the pros like Rooney who thankfully retired not because he's s*** but his love of chasing cheap slappers on the international break.

Roy and Ray show has my full support, you just have to see his press conference to see his love and passion for the game even now, even more so he's a Croydon boy that stood on the Holmesdale in the 50s with dad.

I understand SP with the FDB appointment and the desire to try to push us forward aka Southampton way etc. But i truly believe the best way for CPFC is do what we know and do it better.

With RLC Sakho FM and JR coming in and fingers crossed we push in and get a couple of forwards in come Jan or free agents it's going to be onwards and upwards.

Have those who are discrediting the appointment offered any alternatives ?

Twitter, if anyone takes anything from twitter as reliable comment it's one step away from the Loony Bin.

Best leave well alone imo.

The only stick I'd give is to Parish for first firing a bloke who he entrusted with the future of my club just when the first grass roots of his potential were appearing , then hiring a bloke so desperate for work he's happy to work for a man who can do that. What's the next indignity for my club?

Where is the evidence that Hodgson is "Desperate for work".He is 70 and hardly impecunious.

Perhaps he sees it as his final challege in football at a club he supported from the terraces, has an affinity towards, and is playing in the PL.As he has said he has been "Injected" with a drug called football so the offer in the circumstances, and the financial rewards were far too good to resist.

Maybe all the abuse coming his way will take the pressure off the players. Isn't that what Fergie and other great managers do..?

Has this become 'a thing' now?

Is everyone these days a 'journalist' hoping to add a few clicks from us?

Are you views SO OUTRAGEOUS that they can't be contained within the padded vanilla confines of HOL?

Yeah a lot of people mentioned Benitez, but that was probably a little ambitious...

And about your other comment about Roy being desperate for work - I don't think he is either, and just desperately wanted the Palace job, which is a good thing surely!

We have one choice, give him nothing else than our total support. If not we will send our club into self destruct mode.Cattle trucked. We need to give the players the best possible shout at winning on Saturday, giving Roy a decent reception will be the only way.Not saying we have to chip in and get a dirty great WELCOME WOY banner stretching the length of the Holmesdale but we have to send the right message to the players.Anything else and goodbye Prem.
