Even the commentators have worked out hrs lost it.. They relentlessly say about the last time he scored in cup final... Well they don't say that about Mccarthur for example. Or any other midfielder. They can't just say he's turned crap now...

Don't see what all the fuss is about Puncheon. Yeah he's not great, but he's not s**t either. About average for the team, and certainly puts in a shift.

KG was good at one thing, defensively partnering Jedi. The pair of them, that first season we stayed up were absolutely beasts as a partnership. But, and its important to remember this, he wasn't really good at anything else.

He's quarter the player he was and the other central midfielders we have all offer a lot more and some are often picked behind him, which is totally wrong.

Seems to be very indecisive in possession nowadays. I guess the main question is why would he start in a 3 when Cabaye, Luka and RLC are all fit? Other than his leadership capabilities which may always be the main factor when picking him.

I don't see Punch as a centre midfielder, he doesn't have enough attributes to warrant a starting place there. He's not physical, not a ball winner, not creative enough and as a previous poster said, he hides behind opposition players when a Palace player is desperate to make a pass, which suggests to me he's not confident on the ball either. He should be back up for Zaha/Townsend in place of Lee and Sako, who he is better than.

That goal v Charlton was good Peterborough as well great set up for Wilf v Brighton a big part of our success as Punchoen has been.

I couldn't believe my eyes last Sunday! He actually passed with his right foot (first time ever I'm sure)! It was intercepted as usual though.

He actually passed with his right foot several times that I saw, and they weren't all stray by any means. It's obviously something he's practised, and becoming a more two-footed player would be good for him (and us)

Punch gets a lot of stick but over the past 2 seasons you can see why. I genuinely dislike the situation as he has been so great for us and is one of our own, I remember when he looked unplayable but seeing him with no legs, weak on the ball, indecisive and devoid of quality, not much more than a liability, is a sad situation at best. I'd like to see him in the frame even if just for sentiment or perhaps a dream of some glory still to come. However our season will depend on doing the opposite of what FdB did and that's playing our strongest players in an optimal formation with appropriate tactics. Unfortunately , this would omit puncheon!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
