New Brexit rules meant we had to give it to an Englishman who watches Songs of Praise, knows where Nyagaland once was and has a flag of St George pillow. Roy was the only suitable candidate who passed.

Welcome home Hodgson. Croydon has changed a bit since you were a lad.

What we need is manager who speaks coherent English as a first language.

Sadly, despite being a polyglot our Roy doesn't speak much French. But he does speak fluent Croydon.

FdB was sacked because he couldn't get the best out of the players he had, simple as. Everybody who has ever watched Palace know we are not a tiki taka side, so why persist with it rather than trying to evolve into a passing side over the next 3 or 4 years. By the way just because your a passing side, why does that make you progressive?
Roy was crap for England, but if we're going to judge a manager by how England played under them, then we should be looking at Venables, Hoddle or Sven then should we?
I'm happy with Roy, because he will pretty much do what Big Sam did. That's what we're good at. I would rather have Sam, but if he says no then Roy till the end of the season and then Moyes.

David Hopkin would not be a bad appointment. I would back him more than Roy. Mind you I would back my dog more than Roy.

Embarrassing being an eagle at the moment. Yes football is a results based business, it's not game anymore but you have to give people a fair chance.

Agree with this point on him not getting the best out of players etc.

Gonna check my temperature but if someone, even Roy, can just pick a starting line up most Palace fans will agree with it's a start!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Roy did badly with England and Liverpool.
But he did extremely well at West Brom and Fulham...clubs of broadly similar size and stature to us. Could just be that the bigger jobs are outside of his range but he might do us well.

There's no point moaning - just get behind him. I imagine he will play a very defensive set up on Saturday and that isn't such a bad thing.
I would have preferred FDB to have been given at least 10 games. I saw great improvement yesterday and if SP wasn't prepared to take the rough with the smooth then why the hell did he pursue him over other more obvious possibilities?

Roy Hodgson is in his 70s now - realistically he's not a long-term appointment, so in a few months we'll be b*llsing up another recruitment drive.

Ask me about Ronald de Boer.

Bullhorn i totally agree.Roy took Fulham to an 8th place place finish in the premier league and an 11th place finish in in his 2nd season and he did pretty well at West brom also.

I feel sorry for Frank.have a feeling the players didn't like him.

Woy Hodgson is older than the dirt he sleeps in. He's 70 years old FFS and not up for the sh*tstorm that is Palace thanks to Steve Parish and the Board NOT backing Frank de Boer by selling the players he didn't need and bringing in the players he needed to succeed.
