It would be somewhat strange for a Chairman to issue a statement backing his manager after the new man at the helm has only had 3 games in the 'Chair'. It's his first job in England. He had a bad spell at inter, whether parish and the board has realised it was a mistake, is another matter. Like big Sam said how does 1 game to save his job help the club. Saying we believe in frank, because 10 weeks ago they did when parish was raving in the boom box with FDB. Pardew was given long enough to turn things round. My point being if it's the case of lose and your out. What's the point of giving him this game.

I'm not getting involved in any speculation regarding the tenureship of FDB at our club. All I was saying was that it is not necessary for any Chairman to give a public 'Vote of confidence' towards a new manager who has only held the 'Reins' for 3 games.

However, there is clearly press briefing going on to prepare us for the sack. Otherwise these stories would not keep appearing. Not at all impressive. It's like they're worried FDB might actually turn things around, with Sakho and Cabaye coming back..

I used to be in the 'FDB out' camp, but after having been on holiday for the last week and getting some space from the mess we're in, I do feel it would be crazy to sack him so early on. What kind of message does that send to other managers ? As others have said, big Sam didn't turn things around straight away, and as fans, some more positivity on and off the pitch would be helpful to the players and manager to feel we have their support. The pressure when the fans turn against the team and manager must be unbelievable, and the belief that we can turn things somehow starts with us. FDB implementing three at the back does seem like a LVG esque nightmare, but the only way things are going to get better is patience and a bit of positivity. Our squad needs rehaul, we have 4-5 good players, FDB needs some time to work with what we have. That said, we lose at Burnley and it's probably curtains for him, I can't see Parish keeping his faith..

Unless we get thrashed, I don't expect (or want) FDB to be sacked. The players are good enough to pick up results, Sam was given time and I fully expect FDB to be given time too.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Croydonlad and who all who sail with you call yourself Palace? Like instant-gratification teenagers sticking out your bottom lip. Get behind the team, get behind the manager and get behind the sofa - this is Palace. If you don't know that by now where have you been. The sack after four games? Some of you squealing since the first game? My God - unbelievable.
