Getting these deals done isn't always our fault - other Clubs play silly buggers as well! Yeh agreed to an extent but why is almost every club around us able to conduct better business? Sometimes we have to dispense with the excuses and accept that our overall transfer strategy is completely inept. Our whole approach to squad management and transfer dealings is amateurish. 3 injuries and we are relegated. Please also bear in mind we think we are saving money but if we are adrift at Christmas time we will spend loads in January probably to desperately save ourselves. Not spending now is counterproductive if the argument is "we dont have enough money". When will the club be run correctly?
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Nope. FIFA changed rules- we had to do loans in window as well. Also, we have to announce our 25 squad today so unless we don't announce a full squad or a player on a free is under 21, we can't play them until January either. This article explained it to me:

Phew...Dodged a bullet with the Niasse deal falling through. The only negative is we were in for him in the first place. If you look at the Everton fans forum you will see they think he is one of the worst-ever players they have seen in a blue shirt. Parish should be credited big-time for the MS deal, but remember he was outstanding in a BFS-drilled back four and not FdB's shambles of a back three. Don't be surprised if he struggles a bit under the current regime.

FdB HAS been backed in a modest way. Riedewald is clearly his choice plus the two very good loan signings in Loftus Cheek and Fosu Mensah. This is a substabtially stronger squad than that available to BFS and a competent PL level manager should be able to pull clear of relegation into mid table with it. Its also very vulnerable to injuries re striker and gk and we have to hope we are lucky in those areas til the January window. The squad is so much stronger than last year. Just hope it is not 6-defeats on the bounce before Sakho is on the pitch

I do agree with you but if the club planned properly then we should have 2, 3, 4 or more players identified for the postions we need cover for. If one doesn't come off then we move on, everything just always seems to be done on a wing and a prayer.

It's because of all the usual dithering and trying to save a couple of million that it's been left so late. Maybe we should be asking why, yet again for the umpteenth transfer window we are in the position where we don't have adequate cover for the positions we most need? Smacks of poor planning to me, the buck stops with SP.
