That's assuming the board has been stressed over it. It's been clear for MONTHS Sakho had agreed terms and only wanted to come to Palace. Not sure the board would have been stressed knowing he was in our corner. Saving 10% of our transfer kitty shouldn't be sniffed at. Also shows that we're no mugs. In the end it was the bin dippers who got stressed out and came down £4m. Had my advice been taken we'd have shelled out £30m. Which is why I design databases instead of negotiating footballers' transfers.

Or we could spend 24 million on Mangala a proven flop and 10 million on Niasse who looked okay in a poor Hull side. Now I might not be a football expert but even I can see the Sakho and Perez option is far superior and cheaper than the Mangala/Niasse option. So why can't Parish and the board. If Pulis ends up getting Sakho it will be a disaster. Looks like they know what they're doing after all!

Lets have it straight the board need a kicking. No goalkeeper is a crime no striker is stupid no right wing back waiting till the last minuet to bid for someone we have been looking at all summer? the board need a kicking. Although im not convinced by FDB's tactics the board have not backed him in fact it seems like they are tying his hands behind his back and giving him a rubics cube to solve. but what worries me more is that its more to do with owners and board members taking money out the club rather than putting money in. look at Huddersfield sign all their players EARLY bedded them in and now they are doing well i call it preparing to succeed and how the hell are we getting rid of 13 players and getting in 3 and expecting the manager to work with that. This reminds me of the Mark Goldberg days. this is going in one of two directions the sale of the club or relegation or to be honest both. In any case Parish smiling on tv about signing a player thats not fit for 26 mil is not enough and if you are worried about looking stupid mate your going the wrong way about it. The board have done ok so far, even if we go down it will have been our most successful period in the clubs history. Not bad when they are all stupid. None of us will ever know if the transfer targets stalled due to lack of funds or for another reason. We also wont know if a player is rubbish for us or not until they have played for us, hopefully in their correct position.

Paul Merson gave us a B - which is about right. Huge plus to get Sackho in as well as two excellent loan signings. On the down side, no cover for gk or striker and no upgrade for Ward. The squad is extremely vulnerable to injuries or loss of form. It is extremely difficult in one transfer window unless you spend £100+ to get in all the players in that are needed. A great shame the Niasse deal went pearshaped at the last minute

are you really listening to the judgement of Merson lofao and you think a B is a fair assessment give me a break if thats the case what would he give the mighty Huddersfield? We are a premier league club why are we trying to pay 8 million over two years (Cenk Tosan) why are we not buying Zoot for 5-6 million when we need a keeper (play Juli) why are we willing to sell Townsend when we should be adding in that position i.e Burke why are we looking at players for what seems weeks and other teams just sweep in and sign them. we needed 3 or 4 players yesterday and got 1 what are we Arsenal? ffs Originally posted by Petereagle
