FDB will not be sacked after 3 or 4 games, the reason being that we could not replace him - who would want to come to a club that could sack you so quickly without having backed you in the market? I keep saying this, but apparently people here think that acting on the spur of sudden anger will be just fine. Some on here would sack FDB and be left scratching their heads as to what to do next - or, more likely, complaining that we haven't gone out and got proven manager X or Y, when the fact will be that they won't want to step into this club. I want frank to succeed and have said so numerous times. But if it's true that he's pissing off all the players and has lost the dressing room. And if it's also true that Parish thinks he's made a huge mistake and doesn't rate Franks judgement of players he wants to sign. Then Frankly I wouldn't blame Parish for wielding the axe. As for us not being able to attract another manager... hmm I think that's kinda nonsense really. Hodgson would jump at it for one. Not that I want Roy but we have the whole season ahead of us and if the squad gets strengthened then really we do have a great team still. Filling a manager vacancy at a Prem club can't be that hard. Even if we've just made a howler.

He does suit Southampton currently much much more than us, that is true. But in this industry we have to do a few things before sacking someone we've hired, unless Frank decides to walk: 1. Sign a few quality players. 2. Give him some more time with a few games. 3. See if he adapts away from 3 at the back, back to 4-3-3 he and we have always worked with and implement things more gradually as was agreed. We stick to 1 and 2, Frank sticks to 3. If he doesn't and results continue he'll go. Spot on again Rudi! This shows Parish is fair too... Hope fdb adapts and we turn it around in style... If not then I'd even take Hodson!

They looked pretty messed up in front of the scenes. FDB's approach to the two home games has appeared reckless and lacking preparation / interest in any threat the opposition may have. Five goals conceded tossed off with the comment "defending isn't so difficult" or words to that effect".

There is no way on earth that has is sacked before the 8th league game, and thats if we lose all 8 and dont score, or only score a couple. Parish will look like an absolute prat (even if he sacks him much later but still this season) and he doesnt want to look like an absolute prat, he wants to look like a premier league chairman. If FDB is sacked this season after an abject failure then Parish has to take responsibility for that total shambles.

If we go to Burnley and put in another abject display and come away pointless I will be amazed if FdB keeps his job.

Thank goodness he's gone, FDB was NEVER going to make the grade. Maybe ... just maybe we can now get a result on Saturday?

When FdB was appointed, I was pleased because I thought that, with his reputation, he might attract a 'classier' level of player to sign for Palace. I now see him as a bit of a wet blanket, who didn't have the mental toughness needed in the PL. When push came to shove, his reputation meant nothing - his assessment of players available was dire and he seemed to have no knowledge of the UK player pool and modern-day tactics: a bit of a dinosaur, who turned out to be a rabbit caught in the headlights. I wish him well, but I'm glad he's gone.

Anyone on here, or any journo suggesting that FDB is "clinging" to his job is in cloud cuckoo land. Dont we learn? Have we not seen Parish operate for years already, a leopard doesn't change its spots. How long did it take him to fire Pardew? Holloway had to beg to be fired. Parish has a love affair with Southampton, he keeps going on about Southampton doing this or that, transfers, adaptation to premier league etc. So when SA left he dithered around for way too long and hired a guy who would probably do pretty well at Southampton. Here is the problem, we are absolutely nothing like Southampton in terms of the players we have and the way they have played for most of their entire careers at Palace. If you actually think about what Parish has done here, in hiring FDB, its completely bizarre. De Boer played a patient passing game and possession based football at Ajax, with a team of fantastically gifted technical footballers. Need I say more? Why on earth was he hired? Dont tell me other people rejected the offers, then find someone else who is suitable. Parish's luck has finally run out with this appointment, it is a total clanger. The only way he could make this work is giving the guy about 80 million quid to totally revamp the squad. This will go one of two ways, FDB will somehow sort this out, with 3 new players coming in tomorrow being instrumental, or this will be a disaster and Parish will dither around, trying to save face, and then the Americans will finally force him to fire FDB around January - just too late for a new manager to come in and have a good January transfer window. erm....
