After we have played the bin dippers and the deadline approaches we should be able to move for Sakho for £5m more than Wimmer. The first, we know what we are getting, the second would still be a risk.

Makes sense

They won't want him playing against them

I continue to believe he is coming to us, the way we have been saving our money up suggests a big spend is in the offing.

I have a feeling that when he got injured in April, it was thought he could be out for 3 or 4 months.I really don't know the current situation with him.

Maybe he is 'Injured' in the same way as the likes of some of the other high-profile players pending transfers have been/are still 'Injured' !

The France international is set to miss the rest of the season but the news on his knee injury is much better than was initially feared.

The scan has revealed that Sakho suffered only bruised and strained knee ligaments

PULIS ON WIMMER

Tony Pulis has played down reports that Kevin Wimmer is close to joining West Brom from Tottenham.

He said: "Whoever's telling you we are close, is miles away from that fact. We have a lot of irons in the fire with a lot of targets."

A serious bid by the sound of it. Wimmer hopefully will want to sign as he is likely to start straight off rather than just being in the squad or on the bench

Hmmm. Could all be true, or could also be a) a rouse to try and get Liverpool to drop their price on Sakho, or b) lazy agent talk to try and get West Brom to make a move, or c) lazy journalism.

There are too many reports about how we are supposedly going to buy this defender, or that defender because we have been put off by Sakho's price tag.

Why would we sign Wimmer ahead of Chambers?

We don't need Chambers as he's right footed and we have Fosu-Thingy to play on the right.

I think there was a punitive buy back clause in the Chambers deal? And Chambers was reputedly at £20m and Wimmer at under£15m ?

Seems a good player and would allow Fosu-Mensah to play at RWB which would enormously strengthen the right side of defense.

Ask a Spurs fan what wimmer is like

Good technical footballer who would be a decent signing. Had some flack when he's played but will get better with more game time

Does he suit a back 3/5
I would say so. Left footed so could sit to the left of a back three to support the wing back

Him and Reiderwalde would definitely strengthen the LCB area

You've changed your mind suddenly as last week you were claiming that he hadn't impressed you when you saw him play.

As I said at the time my son is a mad keen Spurs fan and he told me that Wimmer would be an excellent buy
