With everything I'm reading on different sites, are we set for major transfer merry-go-round this by the close of the transfer window ?

I think we are playing a very dangerous game. Anyone who watched Tuesdays game could see we are absolutely f****d if we don't get another forward in this window. Weve known since xmas that we would need to get someone in. Surely we could have identified some targets in that time and got someone over tbe line before now. maybe were trying, but we're leaving it very late,

Sam Alardyce is reported as saying we are fine attacking wise, just the defence needs sorting. FDB has said he wants to start with a strong defence then sort out going forward. We'll stay up if we can stop making mistakes in defence and conceding sloppy goals. Might not be very exciting, but staying up this season is really all we can realistically achieve.

I don't buy, or believe this. I also don't believe that FdB thinks that we can do without more firepower in attack.

When Wickham comes back then we will have more options, but even last year we had Remy and Campbell also. Even though Remy was a waste of space, we still had the semblance of a choice four up front.

I can accept that we are going to replace cameos from Campbell with cameos from Lokilo and Kaikai, but we need one other Premiership quality striker. However, I am fairly sure that this is one piece of business that will be done between now and next week, so I refuse to be too downhearted before the start of September.

He has said in his press conference today that we need another striker to back up Benteke and he is looking at keepers

Thanks for the update. I guess that reinforces what I said. Benteke, Wickham, AN Other and Lokilo/Kaikai sounds like the best we can expect.

That's what the plan has always been.

Of course. Give Steve Parish a call.

Maybe a foreign loan or two, but loan signings are the cheap option and the cheap option isn't usually the best.

The loan signing of Sakho saved our bacon last season and although it's only two games in loan signing Loftus-Cheek has been our stand out player this season
