Was it the first match of the 2005/06 season, as referred to in my earlier post on this thread? Even if it was, I've no idea who our (one) scorer was.

Good call, but not quite. It was more recent thah that. It was our first home game that season, but not the first game.

AJ was our goalscorer in that Luton game.

I've hedged my bets: £2 on 2-0 at 7-1 and £1 on 3-0 at 14-1.
either way I'll be celebrating, (except if we win 2-1 or 3-1, or 4-0 etc)

Anyone want a quiz question? When was the last time we played a newly-promoted team in our first home game of the season? Year, team, result and our scorers, if any?

OK, just in case anyone is interested, it was our first home game in the 2006/7 Championship season (but second game). Southend had been promoted from League One. Palace won 3-1 and our goalscorers were Mark Hudson, Leon Cort and Dougie.

Mark Hudson is now on Huddersfield's coaching staff.

I am going 7-6 to Palace. 6 down at HT but a wonder debut from Lokilo bagging a double hattrick brings us level. On the 90th minute Hennessey fumbles a cross so badly it bobbles up field into the opposition goal and we win 7-6.

That scoreline would match Charlton v Huddersfield in Dec 1957. According to Wiki, Huddersfield remain the only team ever to lose a professional football match having scored six goals. Sixty years on....worth a bet?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Draw seems to be the rule when Palace entertain Huddersfield. They have not lost away to the Eagles in 29 years (only draws)...can we have our revenge please? But go for 1-1!

It's a banana skin for sure, they'll give 100% and then some.

I think frank will have us in good enough shape for our quality to shine through.

Don't expect them to trouble us, maybe a mistake will lead to a goal but I expect us to score twice.

2-0 or 2-1

More important I think is how we play, which I predict will be well.

Oh f*** it, im gonna contradict myself..

Palace 4-0

Wilf wins a penalty, Luka converts
Benteke scores 2
Wilf second pen man sent off, Luka converts.

Huddersfield have rude awakening to the Prem and the eagles soar top of the table.

COYP!

I'd tend to favour those who're predicting 1-1, but I wouldn't rule out those who think 0-1 either.
