Just realistic. I'm not saying I don't want to survive WWIII in order to witness WWIV first hand. As I've often said though, living a healthy lifestyle is just taking the longest possible way to die. Oh, and I had a bad day at Goodwood yesterday.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

No point in worrying about things out of our control. If mankind destroys itself, this planet will live on.

1) The prime directive; or 2) The propensity for dominant species to over-procreate to the point they f*** themselves into extinction. We are currently on the latter path.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

regarding the question of ''have we reached a tipping point ..ie a point of no return ? That happened when the agricultural revolution created more people for this world than could be supported by the hunter-gatherer lifestyle. We just cannot grow the wild boar fast enough to replenish the forests. circa 6,000 years ago.
Edit : ok, its when the cheap Fossil Fuels start to run out. Royally F...cked. Happy ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (05 Aug 2017 11.57am)

The Irish people were not over-dependent on potatoes; the land in Ireland was largely owned by British land owners who grew plenty of wheat and other cereal crops, but exported it to England rather than use it to produce bread and feed the population. the famine was largely caused by the indifference of both the British government and the landowners to the suffering their policies produced.

In Venezuela where socialism has been running the country for quite a while they are currently shooting dogs in the streets for food. It is far from perfect here but we are doing a lot better than that.
