I'll admit to a mild curiosity as well.

I have a lot of time for Simon, I listened to the interview and what he said was spot on in my opinion, nothing bitter about it, full of truth our new manager elect does not have any experience in the premier league.
Simon had the club at heart when he was chairman, he was a tad careless at times and got us in a mess, but he did his utmost best and in doing so lost a fortune. God bless ya simon

As I remember it, Jordan raised the issue of agents demanding payments from clubs for their clients to sign, which is what Cahill's agent was trying to do. He rightly, in my view, pointed out that this kind of double dipping was, and still is, not on.

This is true Ken, but standing on your principles is all well and good, unless you're cutting your nose off to spite your face. Raising the issue was one thing, but refusing to do deals(and I'm not necessarily talking Cahill) was another entirely. We were so close to staying up that season that maybe swallowing a little pride might just have saved Mr Jordon a whole load of angst a few years later.

Stop talking sense. This was in the thoughts of loads of us at the time. A here today, gone tomorrow small fry, flash Harry trying to change the game was never worth it.

You're putting it more starkly than I would Sir, but that was the thinking of many on here at the time. If it really was that serious a problem, I'm sure we'd have heard something from the parsimonious Mr Parish by now

I think Simon had Simon at heart most of the time. Did he lose a fortune? Maybe but he also paid his family and friends handsomely. It still irks that idiots like Talksport give his views airtime, His involvement in the business hardly was a sucess, he lied to the fans (remember the joy and the t shirts sold when he bought the ground?) and when the club went down it was the little guys the charities and small suppliers which really lost out. Despite his terrible losses he doesn't seem to be doing too bad.

I don't have a problem with Simon. TalkSPORT obviously have his number so on anything Palace he is their man. He's now just yet another Palace fan with an opinion...... but a bitter one it seems.

An extremely bitter opinion as well. Maybe he's still salty that we've stayed in the Premier League with Parish and CPFC2010 in charge longer then he did.

I Remember really liking his rants in The Papers (was it the independant or observer ?) about all things football business.....he always said it like it was and made a lot of sense. When all others seemed to be just taking it, he was fighting back.
Fair play to him attempting to standup to the evil agents and not being forced to play by their rules. I will always respect him for that.
Unfortunately, this may have cost us our place in the league - which only went to prove what power the agent has over football clubs.

he is now, however, using Talksport as his voice and doesn't seem to have the same grasp of the situation, his ire at he Agent now turned into bitterness toward the Club, thinking SP is always doing it all wrong.

Do these not tell you that he's actually a bit of a fool? When you hear Steve Parish complaining about agent's fees and refusing to pay them, even if we're relegated as a result, it may be worth taking notice. It was a pointless piece of self-publicity that ultimately led to his own downfall and we're lucky that he didn't take the club with him.
